Haven't read it. I'm still putting off reading White Noise. It's supposed to be funny, but it still feels so much like homework.

I've been on the delivery end of that conversation a few times. So far, when someone I know dies, I usually find out sooner rather than later. There is no non-awkward way to navigate that conversation. You just try to get through it without crashing and burning too badly and deal with the emotions later as they come. What am I supposed to say? "Sorry to hear about your friend?" As you say, she wasn't a friend, just an acquaintance. There is no place for me to go with that; you're on your own.

I know (see my post in the Mac group this morning?).. I was kinda wrong too - I said they were likely holding because they couldn't stand to have another non-shipping priduct family. We're getting our inventory this week, I'm impressed.

And be the whiny bitch you want about the graphics engine. A Radeon Mobility 9600 will blow the doors off anything nVidia can cook up. The nVidia chip was in the old one and in the PBook 12" because it's slightly smaller and requires a bit less juice. Nevermind the 64MB DDR. I think the 15 SuperDrive model may be the ideal notebook config, though I have no regrets with my machine. Hardware comes out. It blows away the old shit. I wouldn't have it any other way.
