Pretty good night.
koala:
Great meeting you and your friend last night! I hope my drunken, belligerent behavior didn't scare you guys too much tongue

P.S. Friend request sent!

My heel hurts. It's weird, I can't flex it a certain way, or my achielles starts going crazy. Pity me.
Good night tonight, went out with the housemates, had a fun time, ate some overpriced burgers, came back and played some cards. And now I'm watching movies.
m0ngrel:
ick... heel pain is the suxxors man
i hurt mine skateboarding barefoot from the parkinglot to the front door of work
that was like 5 years ago and its never quite been the same

...sometimes an overpriced burger is very necessary
m0ngrel:
thanks man

Still feels like I'm doing something wrong, like I expect something out of people that I shouldn't. Went out last night, sat about with folks and had a fine time. After I left, and drove around, looking for my friends place, where I was supposed to meet him, something felt wrong, I became depressed, felt bad.
I really like all the folks I've met since...

I got a job! At least, it looks that way. I talked to the guy on the phone today, and sent him my info a moment ago, and supposedly he'll be putting me to work pretty soon. The job description was mildly confusing, as I'm still not sure how far I'll be driving on some of these things, and what exactly I'll be doing other...

Well, bummer.
I told the girl I've loved for five years now how I feel about her, and the response was about as lukewarm as I expected. Not as terrible as I had thought it might be, but still pretty lame.
Had a good night last night though! Went to Karma Coffee with Cedar and Nementh, and had a fun time watching open mike...

Karma in Hollywood? I've been there a few times. Didn't know they had stuff like that.

Huh, well, another year of Oscars that were way to easily predicted. No best actress for Ellen Page, like I predicted, and maybe she didn't deserve it yet, but I was rooting for her all the same. Shopped for a little wine at good ol' Trader Joe's, grabbed a couple of bottles of the best under ten dollar bottles I've found in recent memory, watched...

I fasted for a day, not really for any particular reason other than the fact that this check I deposited took a really long time to clear, and I was so low on gas that my light was on, so I couldn't drive to the grocery store or a restaurant, and even if I had been able to, I didn't have enough money. So I...

What a delightful and interesting couple of days. Last night, after my housemate decided that she would rather not take me up on my offer to fool around, I got trashed in the kitchen with two of my other housemates and discovered, upon stumbling back to my room late into the night, that there was a message for me, calling me in to work tonight...

So I've noticed something: every time I make a new journal entry, three people comment on it, and then no more until I make another. It's not that this isn't enough commentary: three is, by far, more than I was getting year ago. It's just something about this constant number being the case that bothers me. So, for this entry, I request that no less...

I'm watching Brick.
Any of you see that movie? I don't know how it applies to anyone else, but my favorite thing about it, besides the shooting and the clever writing and how it all ties together, is that it really makes you (me) remember what it was like to be in high school. How you think that stage in your life is the big,...

I really liked Brick for the same reasons. Good choice.

Brick reminds me of Primer, which is a similarly well constructed, low budget movie.

That's a very pretty journal entry. I very much like it. smile

I won't lie: I believe in destiny.
Yeah, sure, I also believe in free will. I think that there's this path that many people are given the opportunity to follow, maybe even most people, and I think that almost all of them turn away from it, in varying degrees. Some do so intentionally, and lie to themselves about it afterwards, some do so in small...

Very well said. You have a very evocative thought process. And thanks for the reminder. I think I tend to forget just how important and beautiful those details are to me.
jormagund:
My mother's side of the family is Italian. I have a lot of specific issues with Catholicism. But when I get into it, I tend to offend. Suffice to say I think it's a joke. I tend to keep my mouth shut at family events when the topic comes up in any way.

But I don't give a shit what other people believe, so long as it doesn't impact my own life. I think there are lots of great by-products of faith, there are just as many or more atrocities.

Okay, alright, fine, I'll replace the previous post, at the behest of a few folks kind enough to mention that my whinging is unnecessary, and replace it with a post explaining that putting seven or eight chili peppers into a soup meant for one person, when the recipe calls for two, might seem like a brilliant idea, but... no, you know what, it is brilliant....
