Tomorrow night I'm on a plane back to L.A.. I'll be there until Sunday night. I plan on:

A) Eating sushi with my friends Thursday night in Lake Forest.

B) Seeing Sin City at the Arclight on Friday night

C) Fighting with my mom for the computer to play Everquest Saturday night. I mean, to get homework done. Right, that's what I meant.

I got...

This week's Why I Love Portland is:

No sales tax.

None, zip, nada. If something says $9.99, it's $9.99. That's it. The price you see is what you pay. That rocks. All that money that was going to roads and schools I can put to much better use - like tipping the naked ladies.

Speaking of which, Violetflux, d23 and I got to see...

Wow what a day. Max_Traffic and Violetflux got in to town last night. Half mad from driving all day and night, they crashed on the futon in the living room. I got call from them earlier this evening about getting something to eat, so I drove out to where they are now (a hostel in the city), and took them to P.F.Chang's. From there we...

Yay for Orion, the gayest straight man ever ;P Thanks for the futon and the flame. You are truly a pal (oh and curses to me for not seeing Nixon nor Voltaire this trip) frown I'm sure you'll stumble back to me loafing on your couch trying to conjure the spirit of Voltaire.

I'm starting a new weekly feature in my journal called Why I Love Portland. It occured to me the other day that I keep finding reasons I'm happy for moving here. I remembered this again the other night at the grocery store when I discovered:

The grocery store near my house bakes pound cakes every morning!

I love pound cake. This makes me so happy...

After conquering what is hopefully the last obstacle between me and registering for school (this time they lost my placement test scores), I am once again a student. School up here is about 4 times more expensive then California, so I'm only taking 2 classes. Both are internet classes, though, so I'm sure I'll do quite well. I rock on the internet. wink

Just the weekend. My sister-in-law works at Reed, we're visiting. I am also, in fact, wearing the same shirt as in my profile.

I still do not have a bed, but that isn't too big of a problem yet. It's different, sleeping inches above the floor, but it's not terribly uncomfortable. I have a desk, and it has a computer on/under it. The computer has a working wifi modem running to it, and I once again I have my working portal to this aspect of reality.

Today I:...

So I don't have interernet access in my room. Actually, we don't have internet access in our hourse, supposedly. Comcast Cable seems to be remarkably unresponsive when it comes to getting their service to actually work. But that's what neighbors are for. Unfortunately the neighbors seem to have been alerted to my arrival, and have position their routers in just such a way that the...

I'm in Portland.

The weather is perfect, and I don't plan to waste much of it inside today.

I'm going exploring!

Last night was some sort of wild, meat fueled dream come true. There was skirt steak, flank steak, garlic steak, pepper steak, alligator, chicken, quail, duck, and (my favorite) bacon wrapped turkey (or as I affectionatly call it when I'm excited, turkey wrapped bacon).

Violetflux and razmataz (who I see is now grey. frown ) left to get themselves weak and pitiful salads somewhere that didn't...

I know the meat hangover thing, man. It's like your veins are running gravy and your brain is gristle.

Still, what a ride getting there, eh?

M: I only show my boobs for free.
O: Free I got. I got all the free you need!

Just a random quote from the farewell party that's been keeping me smiling. That and the hiccup incident, but I don't know how to put that in words.

Anywhoo, I'm arranging one more get together before I take off for the great green north.

Thursday, March...
