I wouldn't fret too much about the art class - some people are always going to come in with more raw whatever-it-is, no matter what you do. But you're there (presumably) to learn the technique that you need to do the best with the talent you have, which is nothing to sneeze at (and even the biggest talents fizzle out without technique).
