Getting a tattoo with good ol Sean M. today. We're getting "brotherhood" tat.s of tribal cats (panther for he and tiger for me) with the chinese symbol for brotherhood incorporated. Though faintly stereotypical, they are cool due to the nature and meaning behind them. Next tattoo will be something... I dunno... different.

Better ideas or suggestions will be accepted.

Land of the Dead is an homage to b-horror from a time where movies like these could be tolerated as theatrical releases. To be honest it met my expectations, which were gore and zombies. while you are correct in many points, you need to note that i did not say "the planet is in a second dark age", i said "us". i know that at the time, only europe was experiencing those effects, and on top of that, mostly western europe. but a dark age is still a dark age, no matter where it happens.

and of course there's always progress. there was progress in the dark ages. there were people painting and monks making illuminated manuscripts and minor inventions. but there was no wild thought. today, the "out there" artists just try to think of the most insane thing to get a rise out of people. they aren't trying to genuinely create that which has never been dreamed of.

what i talked about was a lack of genuine creativity and bold discovery. this coupled with war and ignorance is what creates a dark age. monumental gothic cathredrals were built in the dark ages. that obviously required a degree of technology. which is why the technology of the time is not a factor in the enlightment of that period.

titanic is the highest grossing movie of all time. and that movie bends true creativity over and fucks it up the ass.

so, yes, while i understand what you're saying, i still stand steadfast to my original argument.
