Fall weather is kicking in a little bit. Hopefully it will continue to cool down. The heat is enough to fry brain cells....well, whatever most people have left of them. October may hold some promise of cooler weather (hopefully!)
taeloranne:
In the 100s?. . that's insane. Already, I can feel the cool briskness that comes with the Minnesota Fall, the ever change in season. It's almost tangible, the cool weather that's blowing its way into the Midwest, the sudden descent, that's soon to follow, taking us into the single digits. But, damn, you better enjoy that weather and beautiful sunshine for me. It's dry heat, isn't it? I helped move a buddy of mine down to AZ, in June, and I couldn't believe how hot the sun could be but without the humidity. I'm used to sweat just dripping from every pore as your clothes sticks to you in a damp, drippy, disgusting mess. I could get used to the high temperatures just so long as you stay out of the sun during the afternoon. Wear sunscreen!!

You want to know where I get my info? For one from the news. "They have M-16s and they are locked and loaded.
Maybe you should do a little research and not "talk out of your ass" huh? It's fine if you want to go along with whatever your own little mind wants to disillusion itself with. I don't fault you for that. It is much easier that way.
There is no point in blaming anyonw. That is the point. It happened it's horrible and now something needs to be done.
The fact that I had already said that "Do I blame this on the president? No... I don't" makes me wonder what you are so defensive about. Jumping to false conclusions is usually the result of feelings of guilt.
Furthermore, I get my information from people that were there. Like I said I know people that lived in New Orleans, I have spoken with many of them that have made it out. (thank God for that) people close to me are still missing and that is no surprise given the conditions that they ARE NOT reporting on the news.
Would I stay in a house that was on fire? Once again, you are the one talking out of your ass. If I'm 86 years old and I can't walk, well I don't seem to have much of a choice huh? For two, they were not told until veyr last minute that they were in danger. New Orleans is, in case you did not know, a very poor city. A great majority of the people there have no cars, they have no money to get out, all of their family is there and they have no place to go. (Without even a car to sleep in or money for a hotel) What were they going to do? Well, they were going to stay and hope for the best, which would have been okay if the levvy had not broke which no had had said would happen so they knew no better.
If you lived paycheck to paycheck, whcih since you are military I will say you do, as all the soldigers around me do, (but that is an assumption and we know what that means) and you have a family-small children, you have a somewhat stable job but you know if you didn't show up one day you wouldn't anymore... Would you leave and possibly lose your job when you have no savings, take your small children to sleep on the streets and hope and pray you have enough extra money to eat for a few days when no one really said to you that you needed to leave?
Think a little bit before you go spouting your propaganda at me. I have a mind that I use.
Now if you will excuse me, I am late for class.

When you are able to give factual evidence and accept the truth come back.
I supose because you were sent there with no ammo then no one was right?
You are in no way shape or form listening to what I am saying.
They were told it was nothing to worry about, (yes coming from first hand experience) so there was no reason for them to do whatever it took to live, that is what they were doing.
I'm glad that you are going there to help. That is more of the point then anything, we need people over there helping.
But do not come to my page spouting your propaganda at me. I know what I am talking about however unlike you I am willing to listen to other's point of view that is supported with factual evidence. I gave you that, you responded with yet more uneduacted retorts and insults.
I have no problem with the military, you are doing what you are told and God bless you for being there for our country, however you also fight for my freedom of speech, remember that.

I happen to have a pretty twisted sense of humor anyway, so of course I found that funny. biggrin

After some of the less than "politically correct" comments I've made in that group I find it hard to believe that most of those people are actually in the military whatever Like I've actually offended some of them. whatever

And yes, I am in the military. GO ARMY!!
