That's it! Indie is not a subculture, it is not a true 'genre' as far as I'm concerned, and it definitely is not a fashion statement. Indie = independent. Do it yourself. The most overproduced crap in the world can be "indie" by true definition - it is a term reflective more of the band's position in the industry than it is to do with the music the band plays.
