I'm back from the emergency room and I don't have an embolism but I was probably experiencing some level of decompression sickness. Thank goodness I didn't have to go to the hyperbaric chamber.

Yah, moto is all fixed. I even got to ride it around a bit yesterday. Weeee, I love my moto.
We got our research diving assignment yesterday. Flop and I get to research metridium, which are pretty (usually) white but come in some other colors too anemone that have a stalk and fluffy top, they look like an underwater flower. Cool.

I dont dive, the critters I see live mostly in tidepools on the oregon coast.
I think I'd have a panic attack if I dove.
I would try snorkeling though.

I started a research diving course last week. Jees, it's going to be difficult. I've had fear issues about diving so this will be a real challenge for me. We have to do 2 night dives, a deep water dive (where you don't see the bottom), a nitrox dive and a few others. But I'm really excited about it...really.

looks like you found a pretty inexpensive, relaxing place to stay...in the summer months there are definitely some good spots on the north shore to dive...just drive further north on kamehameha hwy...i know people dive all over the place in the summer months...
waimea bay is great, look for a hole that goes under the giant diving rock...
