Well, I got excited for a few minutes today, as an individual from a neighboring unit that deals in similar matters as mine came to say that sometime next week we would be frozen from moving on to new assignments. My anticipation at going to Iraq to back my teammates up was high, to say the least, as was the pucker factor.

that's a great surmise of knowing hope and then it's lost. man i think if you just give your buddies support from this end for now they will be more than grateful.
Well, got back after a fun-ass weekend in Wilmington, and found out that everything's peachy keen with the girlfriend. Nerves are eased, tension's gone, and the bedroom ashtray is now full.
How nice... too bad I have to go to work tomorrow...

Glad you had fun...
Good luck with the girl.
Good luck with the girl.
Time to escape to Wilmington for 24 hours... work on my art for my pal's book, have a few beer's, and let some stress off of my shoulders.
Here's hoping that my girl and I are getting along after our respective trips out of town...

That's too bad - he's a fucking cool mofo... Was hoping it was you... (Not that you're not cool, just saying..)
Good luck with the girl... What on earth is in Wilmington?
Read some of your posts, wish there were more of you around....
Ciao.

Looks like I'm being suckered into another fix of the Current Events board... grrrr.... I really don't feel like getting into any more endless arguments.
On the flip side, I'm getting into more pointless arguments with the girl, and we can't seem to get the "talking" thing down. How fun, considering that I won't see her for a year in the 3 weeks!

Got the tat done, finally. And God, I forgot how much those hurt over soft tissue/bone. Listen to me whine!
A fun hour and a half getting something I've been wanting for 3 years... and then I come back to reality and realize all my friends are still gone and probably getting shot at.

Hmmmm... I know a guy named Phoebus, that jumps out of planes while sneaking about, but he's rarely doing it for the Air Force. LOL And he looks nothing like you, unless that's not your photo. Bizzare coincidence, I suppose. When was the last time you were in SOUTHCOM?

I wanted to also say I appreciate your cool head and comments as someone with some experience in military on the boards. They are really informative. On that note I keep heared a wire guided missle was shot at our soldiers on the bridge in Nasariyah what does it mean wire guided? Is it remote control? or some wire is first shot at targtet then missle follows it?
These wounded soldiers on TV I think their bravery is awsome and they seem extremely well trained. The Sargent in middle of a fire fight ducked under bridge to bandage himself after missle injured his arm and hand. And he happened onto some soldiers in wearing civies over their uniforms living/hiding under the bridge and he took all 4 of them prisoner while still under fire! Then he helped carry one of his own back out of the fire fight following AND got the prisoners to safety damn courageous. More balls than I have got.

Well, I guess the war is on, full force, now. I only hope a lot of people got out of the city before Saddam's lap dogs locked the place down. Everytime I think I've seen the worst traits humanity has to offer, something new reminds me of how low one can go.
Not being able to reach any of my friends in the Gulf sure...

Finally... after months of indecision, the Greek double-headed eagle I always wanted will be on my back in about 24 hours. I'm so excited... and I just can't hide it...

I think we're past the 24 hr mark... well?
So of course, Karma catches up with everyone. I skip out work for 1 stinking day, and now, entirely by luck, I have to pull an all-nighter in the woods for some cheesy exercise that just came up. And I can't even jump out of a plane with the rest of the guys...
How fucking boring is THIS going to be?...

I apologize to all tax payers out there... I decided to take the day off today, to focus on Pappa John's Pizza, video-games, and getting prepped for going to Korea! Please don't hate me, ok?
Not that I'm going to have a good time... Fayeteville, NC, remains the armpit of America. Rainy as always, and devoid of any of my friends, it will be, as...

Shit, I hope this Iraq fiasco ends soon. If I get into more debates about it, people here will think I'm a real nazi bastard...
I'm pretty sure all those negotiations are failing 'cause no one from either side is even bothering to pour his counterpart a beer...

Seems like any day now we'll be starting a fight with Iraq. All my buddies are already gone, headed east on a "rendezvous with destiny" to use an old line, while I, a month from now, will be going to the Republic of Korea for a year, to ride a desk instead of a parachute for the first time since starting this gig. I'm hoping...
