So 9-11-2008 was a fab day. I had a nice little waterbirth happen in my presence about 420. I am so lucky to do what I do. Yesterday I realized my hands were shaking though. I wasn't nervous or anything. It's just that my body gets very excited when babies... Read More

that's awesome! what a gift! i have such respect and admiration for your calling. there are so many things that people "do" - but aren't always called to it. i think you are doing exactly what you were put here for!
Do you think that embryonic stem cell is a good thing? Absolutely.
Do you think that embryo=life? Depends how you define life. It's alive. It has the potential to become a human being. But I do not buy into the rhetoric that once an egg becomes fertilized that the "destruction" of that embryo becomes murder. I find that ridiculous. I respect that there are varying opinions on this, however. But it's been my observation that most objections are based on either ignorance or religious dogma, not on science.
Do you think that the way you live can affect your health? I can't believe anyone would believe otherwise. You eat too much, you get fat. Pretty simple. I'm living proof.
Do you think that chemicals placed on our foods cause cancer? Possibly. But not intentionally.
Do you think that the health of our country is embarassing? Yes, but I'm a hypocrite.
Is your health embarassing? No. I'm overweight, but I'm not huge. I have the ability to slim down... I just don't have the self-discipline.
What could you do to be healthier today? Stop eating this delicious cinnamon bun. Mmmm...
How old do you think you will live to be? 75.
Who will save your life? Whatever woman is merciful enough to be my next wife.
Do you think that embryonic stem cell is a good thing? Not Sure

How old do you think you will live to be? 60
Who will save your life? ME
Well I only got to see the first one today. It sounded pretty good, and of course I knew it would need a bit of work. But unfortunately, it is just TOO big of a project for me to undertake. If I were a handyman of sorts, it might be a great project. But I could tell that it would require a lot of time and perhaps a good $50,000 worth of improvements.
It's a lot, though not out of reach based on the asking price....
But honestly, when it is all said and done I can find things for the same amount of total investment that are move-in-ready. So it doesn't really make much sense. That one is off the list. I'm not the slightest bit discouraged however. I've just started, after all, and I'm not in any kind of real hurry. I just would LIKE to buy something before year's end.
i can appreciate your stance on the abortion issue as well as your reasoning for your opinions. I even agree with you on a lot of it. But I myself am pro-choice. For all the reasons that Twinace mentioned above and because I am afraid a ban on abortion would lead us back to persecution of women for their "reproductive sins." I am also afraid of the all the backdoor butchers that would inevitably surface.
I would also like to see this country hold men as accountable for supporting children as women. Right now, my "baby daddy" can throw shit at me that costs me time and money, but the state has only been able to shake him down for about $500 to $1000 a year. Daycare is $640 a month! And that with me constantly going down to the child support office and waiting and filing paers. As long as he gives me something his ass is in the clear. All the money he owes me is just ink on paper, unless I hire an expensive lawyer to prove that he has a pretty successful under the table business. More time and more money for me.
I have almost officially pissed off all my friends with the liking of Sarah Palin.
HOLY SHIT BALLS -----> I think I might be an asshat.

I DO NOT!! (normally hahah) I have tonnes of work but this tattoo is the first one I have done that for, due to its location, so far it doesn't really help either , just makes me say odd things...
She's very likable. And youthful. And female. All things that McCain was seeking in a running mate in order to steal the dem's thunder.
She's no air head, despite the whole beauty contest stuff. It's all leftist fluff and is really quite irrelevant. Her speech was outstanding. I dunno who wrote it, but her delivery was PRO.
But just look at where they come down on the issues.
And think about the last eight years.
And ask yourself why the fuck are we in Iraq?
And wasn't SMALLER government supposed to be a defining principle of republicanism? Yeah, thought I read that somewhere. And fiscal responsibility perhaps? Then how the holy hell does anyone explain and/or justify the Bush administration.
Look I'm NOT a democrat. And for a long time I was voting republican 3 times out of 4. And I'm not 100% on board with Obama policy EITHER. Heck, I'm all for drilling for oil on US soil, for example.
But I am disgusted beyond words by the thought of continuing down this road we've been traveling. We need a new path. We need to regain some international respect, not continue to be the bullies of the neighborhood. We need someone inspirational, who can change my mind about how fucked up America is.
So my choice is obvious. I don't have to, or expect to ever agree completely with any candidate. I just pick the right person for the job at the time.
McCain's time was 2000. He should have won then. I'm convinced we'd be much better off today. But that window of opportunity is gone.
My life is busy, very very busy.
It seems that it just won't slow down.
I don't want it to. It is just fun to acknowlede I guess.
