To get the best results out of a pick-up for upright, especially in high volume situations demanded more and more in various projects, the best thing to do is to combine a condensing pick-up and a mike:
the Underwood pick-up

My brother in law does the same thing....with vics and percocets.
So yeah, when you're snowboarding and you launch off the top of a spine, a spine that you've hit and landed all season, one should avoid landing directly on one's shoulder on the flat ground a zilliondybilliondy feet away from the spine. . that shit hurts.
