i have to agree with your analogy, we can not see the choices made by any individual, past or present, but only the results of those choices. perhaps the only difference is that with people alive today, we may be able to reach a more concrete understanding through deep explanation directly from the individual. but i still believe that we have so many things about ourselves that we dont understand, that in most cases, even the individual in question cannot completely convey the underlying cause of their choices.

i do agree that at some point (different for everyone) we should be able to reach an understanding of ourselves. part of the problem is that i think that it is just recently (in the human evolution) that people have really wanted to understand themselves, and we dont know how to figure that out yet (as a population)

to break it down, i agree with everything you said. its a matter of degree, i think i have less faith in the knowing of oneself, than you do.

My brain is all fuzzy and spinny. Kind of a like a cotton candy machine but with less stickiness. My brain is blue cotton candy.

The pace of the world at present is unnerving. I have never felt so wanted... I'll blame it on self-confidence. Honestly, though, it feels good and new and exciting to be desired. I still don't understand.

(And tell me what it is exactly that you want me to give up. My mobility? My will? Myself? None of these will really do. Let's compromise.)

yup. as for me, I'm, a student at Pima , next semester at the U of A. The plan is to major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. blah blah blah. this is the same small talk I go through at every party, where everyone is at the U of A and when i say I go to Pima they say..." I hear it's a lot cheaper... good for you....yeah"
So, you're in grad school. Were you at the U of A for your your entire college career, or are you new to Tucson? I am always interested in first impressions of Tucson, seeing as I have been here my whole life.

I find myself to be quite distracted as of late. I'm doing my school. I'm in an absolutely amazing grad program, yet I can't seem to give the necessary level of focus.
It's easier for me to understand than to be understood. Perhaps that's the problem.

Welcome aboard! I have only been here a few months myself, but I aready feel like an old timer.

Comment on the boards, join a couple of clubs, post some pics and have a blast. I have met some great folks, gone to some great parties, and just have had alot of fun.
