Mmmm Wednesday is my sleep in day and I get to have a long morning. Its raining today but it looks nice and makes everything seem so fresh. Though the hill outside my window is getting really muddy.
I want:
* another piercing but I don't know what
* to go see a show but I don't know who
* an alias of some sort...

* yes, it is a labret piercing. and it is tiny. it's also a fishtail back. so it's funny if i ever hug someone with dreads, cause it inevitably will get stuck in their hair and slide right out. which i guess is a lot better than having a flatback and just being stuck to their head and in a lot of pain...not a lot of places have them that small so you have to look around kinda hard for that size.
* your name is beautiful... btw, i'm a little orchid obsessive. the key to a healthy orchid, especially if it's an easy one like a phaelonopsis is: good sunlight, WELL drained bark/soil, watering it regularly... and basically, not giving it too much attention, or you'll end up overwatering it and it'll get waterlogged and rot- this has happened to me too many times. grr. you'd think i'd learn by now.
* i like your taste in music...hell's belles, red aunts, patti smith, L7,etc etc, there's a theme goin on here. i heart chicks who kick some serious ass.

Stretched my bottom holes last night and they are a little stingy and tight this morning. Classes have been good. I have a brand new orchid plant from Dave (Thank you!) and I've been taking it to the shower with me so it can breathe the humidity. I think its flowers will open soon. I'm excited. And hungry. Hungry like the wolf.

This Wednesday is the 30th anniversary of Roe v Wade. Lets all realize that abortion was not always legal, and may not be much longer if we don't pay attention. And also, I haven't been up on my politics lately...but I read a headline just today that said Bush is promoting an absitence only sex education program in Texas. I can't believe what a pinhead...

It is a very important issue this year. Bush would love to make abortion illegal and with control of the congress and the supreme court, they will most likely try and oppose Roe v Wade. How disgusting that is. A woman should have the right to choose, there is really no arguement. If you ban abortion, that is an infringement on the constitution, because that is church and state mixing together. Just because most republican conservatives are christians doesn't mean that abortion should be illegal. The bible is not our constitution.

Impeach Bush. What a pinhead.

I feel like noone really cares about this...and if noone cares now, then what we will do when it matters?

I just got back from an exhibit about Japanese internment camps in the US. And a student at my school spoke about how he has had to register as a young muslim man here. And I'm realizing that not only are most of us uninformed but we just don't care enough.

So far my classes are good. I'm getting back into everything and its going well. Its colder than I had expected here, almost colder than Colorado right now. I am hoping this semester isn't a back breaker.
I have a hurty thing inside my right nostril. I don't know what it is for sure, a cut or a zit. But in any event it hurts....

HaPpY MLK day to you too!!!biggrin
suoda:
Happy MLK day. Let us hope that his dreams will not be stomped on by Bush's imperialism.

I start school tommarow. I hope I can get back into the swing of things quickly. Last semester I cut way too much, so I will be trying to avoid doing that so much this time around. Perhaps I will actually boost up my GPA this semester. That wouldn't be a bad idea...

The autobiographical papers on your family sound like an interesting project.

I'm flying back to Portland tomorrow morning. I'm a little nervous, I haven't flown all that much before, the leaving and the searching makes me nervous.
I am going to go play Operation (the buzzing board game) with my parents tonight and try to get some good sleep.

I am watching The Big Lebowski, and the Dude just got covered in Donny's ashes.

Today is slow and chilly. I am wearing my new sweater from the thrift store with the giant wooden giraffe sign. Its really cozy and warm. I might go read at a coffee shop downtown, its nice knowing people who work at the shops in town, but I can't go and hang out alone without running in to someone I know. I'm doing laundry today...

There's a book-on-tape of "The Invisible Man" that's very well done. I started the story that way while on a road trip and had no problems finishing it with the written book.
