Thanks for the kind words, those who left them. I feel like I've lost my centre, and I need to find it again.

In the meanwhile, I will take temporary cheer in looking at Neve Campbell.

when do we get the old Optic back? i don't like to see you sad. frown
oktober:
I do hate that feeling... I hope it is a very long time before I'm there again... With any luck I'll never again, but we all know that just isn't gunna happen.

Keep looking at Neve, or whatever else gets you through the days. smile

I need a hug right now and a sympathetic, supportive ear. I'm not doing good.

Man, I hate those periods in life. You'll look back on these times, and with a gentle smile feel relieved that they are many years past.

If you need to vent or anything, send me an email and let 'er rip.

Keep well. smile

I am trying to remember what I dreamt about last night, but I can recall neither images nor feelings from my sleeping life. There is the equivalent of television snow on all my dream channels. I must have forgotten to pay the cable or something.

In other news, I've never been in love. I was thinking about this the other day, and I realized that...

Never underestimate the confidence boost of a fine haircut and comfortable shoes.

Watching people on Maury try to guess which guests are tranvestites and which are women is not the best way to spend a day off.

Who wants to go for drinks later?

Boys and girls, the life of a video game programmer isn't as glamourous as people make it out to be.

there is the best place here for chicken and waffles. but you have to go on a sunday afternoon, when you're hungover. it makes it taste sooooo much better.

So I met Adrian Tomine tonight, and what did I do?

'Hey, the latest issue?' I said to him. I followed that with a 'cluck-cluck' sound from my mouth, a wink of my eye and a thumb up, as non-verbal ways to express my high regard for his work.

'Uh, thanks', he said.

Houston, we have a communication problem.

I couldn't live anywhere without season changes... I NEED all 4 of them to feel good. On the west coast we get pretty lame winters though. It's more like an extended Autumn but way colder.
llona:
yes....memories like that are the best and worst. the best because you have them and the worst because you can't put them away.

and there's just something about kissing certain parts of the body: the hands, the inside of the elbows, the ribs...that just says love to me.

At this moment, at this very hour, minute and second, I miss my mom and dad more than any other time in my life.

i believe you are correct. i hope my rant the other day didn't come across that i am bitter or something. i was mostly just pointing out the double standards in set quality. i enjoy SG and have a good time posting pictures but whether or not i ever become one really isn't of any consequence to me. every once in a while i do my best and take some pics to send in and when rejected i'm usually rewarded with a few months free membership which is nice. i'm pretty much just in it for the social aspect and people like you. kiss

Yep... I here ya. Unfortunately 'the art of endurring' life and circumstance is pretty tough for anyone to master. There are no dojo's I know of that can really teach that. Just try to live up to 'nin' (Nin as in Ninja.. Not Nine Inch Nails.. for those that are confused) as best you can.

Life has been turbulent for me lately... I honestly try to have a spirit of 'nin', but being human is pretty intense sometimes. I think that it is fine to experience all the uncertainty and frailty of being human, but to have a spirit of 'nin' means that you won't give up until you've been destroyed utterly, or you are victorious in your life.

I bet there were melancholy Ninja back in the day. They got lonely, and needed love too. But they had the benefit of having a lot of time for personal reflection and meditation. The idea was to be human and have the full spectrum of emotion and desire, but to not let them control you or make you suffer.

I sometimes think that just trying to keep the spirit of 'nin' in you heart is enough. One may never master that mindset, but to strive for that spirit is maybe a life long quest that may or may not ever get fulfilled. At the very least, striving for 'nin' will make us stronger better people. The spirit of "keeping going" as Hatsumi Sensei likes to say.

I know I make a good uncle, but I don't think I'm ready for fatherhood yet. I hate to say it, but children can be such millstones around your neck, if you're not ready for them. Raising children in a stable, loving environment requires supreme dedication and selfless effort, and I'm not prepared to give so much of myself to such a task. There is...

i met adrian tomine on friday night and it was awesome. he was very much more light-hearted than i suspected given the serious nature of his graphic novels and he was super nice. he autographed everyone's books really nicely- he wrote out my name in script and spelled it right. hope you have a chance to see him in LA

So I had my first in-person meeting with someone on my friends list tonight. Significant not only for this fact, but also for the fact she is the first person I've befriended in LA who is not a co-worker or a relative or a flesh-eating zombie. Woo, what a cool person. Now if I could only be sure that every other member on this site...

I have to subscribe to satellite TV so I can get CBC Newsworld. The quality of broadcast journalism here is appallingly poor. I mean, you would never hear a Canadian journalist use the word 'guys' to describe the circumstances of a murder.

In other news, someone buy me dinner. I'll put out, I swear.

In other news, I dig the name Tricia. I dated a...

Yeah CBC would be harshly missed in those parts.

As for dinner, I'm not looking for manly love so I'll pass for now. It looks like you've got a taker anyway. biggrin

Tricia is a good name for sure. Fruity hair and good hugs make for fantastic memories.

Yeah... I....Miss.... you too...man. tongue

Keep well.
