So, last Saturday, after the arty party with the guy in the gorilla suit, I and my cohort retired to Carol's Pub which has the benefit of being open until 5am on Saturdays. What I didn't know is that they have a country band on the weekends. It was totally fun and dancing occurred. And I had the sense to cut out by 4.

Hey i didn't see that thread! must go check it out! Your description of your family meals has made me sick to my stomach! I am so jealous, i would LOVE to enjoy all of that while at a thanksgiving.. usually its a dried up turkey with burnt side dishes for me, well excpet this thanksgiving my bf fried a turkey.. but the burnt side dishes still made thier way to the table! :-) Love your new motto..
One day I'm going to have to write a journal entry while not hung-over, just to see what it's like. Went to this sort of arty performance/benefit/DJ & Dancing type party last night at a huge industrial/art studio space last night. The performances were mostly stupid (I liked the one I was in though), but the DJ (Margaret Noble) was good (and a...

Hey, sorry it took me a while to get back at ya.
Anyway, the Hamlet is performed by Chicspeare Theatre company at Ebeneezer Church, (1650 W. Foster). It is alright, nothing ground breaking, but alright.
In reference to the TMLMTBGB - it performes in the Neo-Futurarium (Foster and Ashland - 1 block from Ebeneezer). Fri/Sat at Midnight. Get there at least an hour early. It rocks.
Anyway, was the jam at Collaboraction? on Chase? I didn't make it to that one.. I ususally go to their stuff, but had another party to go to. And the performance aspect seems kind of tacked onto the party scene. It doesn't quite work out, yet. What show were you in? I know a couple of people who directed them...

Here's a detail shot of my new tattoo because, well cause I just like it damn it and want to show it off a bit.
I'm having a hungover Sunday, which I actualy kind of enjoy if I don't have anything to do. I was out at an after-hours bar last night--in Chicago most bars close at 2am (3 on Saturdays), but a couple have...

uh, when i first read that, i thought you were talking about people in costumes.

Yeah, the elephants were real--although a parade of people in elephant outfits at night on a deserted industrial sidestreet might have been just as wierd. As it was, I felt like I was in a moment from a Denis Johnson story (except for not being all strung out) where some extrordinary event rolls past you and you can't quite decide if it's real or not. I guanantee it would have captured even your attention.
I just got my first tattoo the other day--as you can see by my profile pic. I'm pretty excited--it's a Cadillac logo from the 70s. Basically a set of oak leaves surrounding the crest, which is drawn in outline (that is the color in the boxes isn't filled in). Why did I get this? Basically I have a fetish for old Caddys--my '72 Coupe deVille...

Thanks for saying hi. I got the tattoo at The Tattoo Factory over by Broadway and Montrose. The detail is pretty nice, though you can't see it in the picture up now.
My other tattoo idea I want to get sometime is a flaming sword--which in Tibetan Buddhism symbolises knowledge or truth destroying ignorance. Plus, hey: flaming sword..
