still on the polaroid thing... i am completely obsessed right now. (it's just a shame film is so expensive.) it really is like a whole other reality. there is no depth of field. no choice to focus on one thing, and one thing only. the subject, or what lies beyond the subject. you HAVE to see it all. no matter how ugly it is. but that's life. it's not always pretty.

as far as designing... at the moment it is my only real gig. when i work at the rose it is a lot of money (well not a LOT. but enough to pay the rent and eat occassionally. i have been kind of living off the credit card this month. waiting to pay it off with the new checks i will get later.). so that is why i make the commitment and go back to MI for a whole month to work on it. this film thing isn't even going to actually pay unless it gets picked up here and distributed. i guess the plan is that it will be shown overseas and then we will just have to see... other than that i just became an independent consultant for passion parties. so yea... i really do sell sex toys. that just started so i don't make too much yet. not enough to live on either. that is sort of sporatic too. just depends on how many girls i can get interested to host one at their house. after i get back in april i will get the normal day job somewhere doing something. and then design and sell toys on the side. (although design is always the career. so if i have to ditch the side jobbies i will if it gets in the way.)

It appears we decided to take the sick vacation at the same time...though I think I got the better illness package cause mine doesn't include a fever and I can sleep if the conditions are right. I did end up with the stuffy, running nose segment that I would like to get my money back for cause I can no longer feel the skin under my nose. I hope that there is someone to bring you that soup cause the stewardesses on these cruises suck.

I was reading Dangerous Habits. It was the only one that my sis has on the shelf...I tihnk I might go and dig through her comics for some other issues though cause I really enjoyed those more than I remembered.

"inspired" is a way of being which manifests itself internally by responding to external stimuli (and usually is externalized again through the inspired one, causing it to function as stimulus for another potentially inspired being.)
in an uninspired state, highly charged stimuli can trigger your inspiration by giving you a flash of a feeling you've previously experienced. how you react depends entirely on which force is stronger - your current state of mind or your physical memories of having been inspired.

feeling inspired is just like feeling sad, happy, mad, etc. the life of your inspiration is a clear reflection of your current state of being and it's relationship to the extraneous realm of existence.

No, it wasn't a hint. It was just odd that you used the word "pesky," because two of my coworkers were discussing the "pest/pester/pesky" thing today. Small world. English is weird.

We definitely spoke about the Beats, but I don't recall HST. I remember reciting the first several lines of Howl from memory and watching you almost fall over with amazement, is what I remember.

I don't think it was me you talked to about Thompson. I'm actually embarassed to admit how little I know about him specifically. I have always focused on the "true" Beats...the trinity, plus one. I've read almost everything Kerouac wrote. I know Ginsberg. I know a lot of Burroughs...more than just Naked Lunch, that's for sure!...and I know Ferlinghetti. Ah, do I know him. He's probably my favorite of the Beat poets, though he isn't one of THE three.

it really has nothing to do with anything, but have you ever seen the BBC series 'the office'? there's not really any porn references in it (well... there is office porn emailed around once... and there is the episode with the anal in the parking lot...) it was a really good series that spoofed office life. only 2 seasons came out. i STILL have to see the special christmas episode that comes with season 2 now. (i own season 1.)

what about spandex in lieu of the little skirts? how do you feel about pom poms?
