it's strange to think that when i hit send on this comment it has to go so much further to get to you. even if i never saw you that often, it was nice to think that my comments weren't so far away.

I know the first sentence is good morning. but the rest I only understand bits and peices of. Arabic is hard to transliterate cus its so different than english.

I discussed the 'aQalbu' thing with my class and they thought it was funny (yes most got it). Heart is Qalb, (that Q is like a really deep K sound. a normal k sound like in english would be kalb which is "dog" so you gotta be careful with it).

the a- prefrix along with the -u sound (not really a suffix, just a different sound you just have to know you have to make) indicate that I am doing this verb (whichever one the a and the u are attached to). I don't know if that makes sense to you.
And if I wanted to say "I heart you" I attach the suffix --kee (for females, --ka for males) and its all one big word: aQalbukee.
Inncidently, if you didn't want to sound like a "fuckin retard" (like one guy in my class put it) you can say "ahibukee" (or -ka to males) which means "I like/love you."

oh yeah, and Al- means "the" so you're right. Arabs use the "the" (the deffinate article) way more than english, but they don't use a or an (indeffinate articles) at all .
