I am often self-despareging myself, but I have a bit of an image-problem (I don't think I'm bad-looking really, and girls seem to like me, but I'm not always pleased ith my appearance). I can admire a guy who is confident and self-assure.
The main problem with bragging is it causes people to be more critical in return. People will tend to think, "Gee, he's not ALL that" because they're expecting greatness. But if you're really that good-looking, then you probably have nothing to worry about.
