don't know if it made the news over your way, but the audobon zoo came out ok, bunch of staff sheltered in the reptile house, according to the report, they lost one raccoon and 2 otters after the storm due to stress, but they've said everything else at the zoo made it.. the only axhibit that got any flooding was the swamp exhibit

Well that sounds like a pain.. : / Personally I'd like the SG tour to come to my country, but then on the other hand. I don't think you'd have much fun here, since people a prejudice of pretty much everthing differen't which sucks. Hell, I can't go out for a pizza anymore without getting shouted insults at me from at least 2+ people. I really hope all your friends get out safe and unharmed.
But its not the end of the world, were just werent prepared for it, its like 9/11 we never expect anything bad to happen to us in america on such a large level. If we dont learn from this everything will be in vain, so hopefully when the rebuilding starts they can build things back in a way that can withstand hurricanes.

I can't even imagine being in that situation. My cousin lives in the French Quarter and luckily he could afford to leave and check into a hotel in Tennessee before the storm hit. I wish everyone had been that lucky.
