waiting for: sushi.
Listening to: Peaches
Drinking: white wine sangria with pineapple, melons, grapes, kiwi, and nectarines.

Very difficult waiting for sushi. My mouth has been watering since I ordered. Damned rainbow roll.

Sangria worked out well- this is my first time making it. The grapes soaked in rum since this morning, so they're pretty potent.

Eating processed American cheese food directly out of wrapper. Strange the food cavings I have at 2am. More or less recovered from last night's cross-Portland drinking binge, but planning to pass out a little early tonight to make up for it. I have done nothing usefull all day. (Well, I did watch Queer eye for the straight guy).

HOORAY!
*happy dance around room*

I have cable internet! And my Mac is back on line! I am running 1587kbps, up from the remarkable 53.3 that my roomie's HP was managing. Now, if I can upgrade to OS 10 and throw in a little more memory, I'll almost feel like part of the digital age again. And also I have crappy cable. Really crappy. But...

yeah!! broadband. I just bought a new PC and equipment so broadband is next. But I have decided I spend too much time on the internet already when it is lovely out... so I decided no broadband till the clouds come back in the Fall. Then I won't feel so guilty about spending so much time inside when I should be outside enjoying.

Finally got to see Pirates of the Carribbean. Hurrah! It was just as silly and fun as I had hoped it would be. Although I see a major plothole. Girl trapped on Carribean island with Johnny Depp and large supply of rum, attempts to escape.ARRR!!! Stupid, stupid girl.

The spiders are still stalking me around my bedroom. Creepy little fucks.

Yesterday I went blackberry picking...

I passed by that streetcorner again today, and alas, the Teddy Grahams were crushed to powder. I had to fight back the tears.

Tee-hee. I got my toes done today. I never spoil myself like that. Now I feel all girlie with my shiny red toenails!
Also all girlie because I sucked up a bunch of spiders in my vacuum and was ridiculously bothered by changing the vacuum bag. It's just that I'd be really pissed off if I ended up in a vacuum bag full of dog...

Yay for occasional rampant girliness!

Y'know, as much as I like tough, strong, independent women, it makes me inordinately happy to see them go all girlie every once in a while. I'm not usually a big fan of "cute," but that's totally adorable, and I love it. Shiny red toenails and unease around spiders can be very sexy. biggrin
cherryb0mb:
my friend had a spider problem and found this thing that you plug into an outlet that keeps them away. i think they radiate some kind of sound waves or something? anyway, her place has been spider-free since.

Note to all portlanders: 30% off sale at the new Spartacus ot on 82nd. Now that's good shopping.
And while I was at Spartacus, I picked up a flyer for something called Leather Pride Week, which iss apparrently the first week in August. I'm reading the flyer, which lists lots of fun-sounding activities like fetish balls, parties, movie night, ect. But having been fooled by...

I wonder if it ever going to rain again. My lawn bears a striking resemblance to shredded wheat. I can't believe how when you try to move to Oregon, everyone swears it rains 365 days a year. It hasn't rained in a month. None. OPh well, at least I'm not in N'awlins getting the backlash off Claudette.

Meanwhile, I've decided I want to become an...

Our lawn is the same way......We had 3 days of rain, now it's back to clear skies! A scantly clad escape artist would make for some fine entertainment in a kind of old style theatre production? Hmmm....
tygertyger:
Yes! That's it! Everybody else called me a wimp for being scared of a rabbit, but this fucker must have weighed sixty pounds! It was terrifying - I'll have horrible nightmares for years, I'm sure.

Speaking of 'When SG's Attack....

So I did Rockfest. We finally got the choreography somewhat down and got very cute outfits with the Dirty Lowdowns shirts and little sweatshorts. Showed up at the concert. Got out of the car, only to have the following conversation.
Drunk Guy: "you match!"
Nixon: (sorry, CT. had to steal your phrase) "Thank, you, Captain Obvious".
Drunk Guy: "That girl's...

Thanks. smile All this SG (and Limbo Girl) love is making me feel content, at least, if not exactly healthy. I can't believe I never picked up before on how deck you are. I wish I'd had you around last night when I ran into that dumbass. I think I would have enjoyed seeing you cut him down. tongue

you better come down there sometime.

otherwise we will have to go get you and drag you down there by force biggrin

last night was my first time, and it was awesome. maybe next time?

I've been hard at work on the 'when SGs attack' Gallery. It's starting to fill up. I just like the fact that once I'm bored with this project and forget about it, people looking at my 'fave pics' will just think i'm a violent psycho.
Otherwise, today has been totally useless. I keep working on my choreography for Rockfest, and I'm SO bad at it!...

Nixon, you effin' rock, for the following reasons (and more):
1. You speak the good truth about the perils of casual sex;
2. "when SGs Attack" is the best damn collection of pics I've ever seen (not least because you've got my pal Lotus in there);
3. your eyes do weird things to my insides.

I never found the poor chihuahua again. I hope somebody nice took him home. Not like I really need another dog around here anyhow.

Anyhow, I'm redoing my 'fave pics' gallery to be my "when suicidegirls attack' gallery. Let me know what's missing. Golly, we're a violent crew.

Oh, and thanks for the info on testimonials. Apparrently y'all can't even see mine. So it doesn't...

Aww, poor doggie. I'm sure he found a good home though. Two kittens decided to adopt me. They're living on the porch right now cos they have lice until I can get some Frontline. Silly things apparent;y don't know enough to stay under the roof and not get rained on. They're soggy now.
big_dave:
shame re the chihuahua; he's probably off terrorising much bigger hounds by now if my little mutt is anything to go bywink

oh, and re swimming zombies - I do remember seeing one in Zombie Flesh Eaters, tho strictly speaking it was walking on the sea bed. And it was attacking a shark. Then of course there's yer undead sailors in The Fog, if you'd count them as zombies....

Am I taking this zombie thing a bit too seriously? Hmm whatever

I went to see 28 Days Later. I hate everyone in horror movies. Why are they required to be stupid? It just distracts from the movie to me if I fiigure out the solution too fast, but in this case, they never figured it out. I wanted the zombies to eat everybody. They deserved it.

In other news, spent all morning chasing a lost chihuahua....

know exactly what you mean re horror movie dumbasses. Doesn't anyone ever think to flick a lightswitch?

Oh, and tongue but having read yer post elsewhere about using the boats on the Thames in 28 days later, they wouldn't have got very far - upstream the Thames becomes a weed-choked stream and then nowt, and downstream they'd have been stuck behind the Thames Barrier at worst or headed out to sea at best. And surely staying in zombie-infested Britain's better than heading to France wink
