Musta been great to play with Johnny T eventhough yet it must have been quite demanding. I never saw him play and that's a shame but hey what can you do...

I knew about the Hanoi 4CD box set. It was only released in Finland, it's got bestof, solo efforts and rarities, etc... But I've got everything that's in there already so I never bought it. Do you know that a new Thunders DVD has recently been released? It's from one of his last gigs ever in Japan '91. A friend of mine has got it already and told me it was quite good (as opposed to the painful In cold Blood DVD).

Hanoi were great on Tuesday, very tight gig, much better than last year's UK tour. Scala was packed (to my surprise I must admit) and there were a lot of fresh faced kids in there. So maybe Rock'N'Roll is not dead after all met Andy again at the aftershow, cool talk and big party this week-end I believe! I'll take a few pics I'll probably post in my journal.

Yes baby Lex has already learned every stinking guitar chord, so of course he Rawks. And the reason that your picture is pixilated is because you uploaded a picture that is smaller than the set requirements, so the default is to stretch it and increase width/length without increasing resolution. It is a badass picture though, stretched or not. I did notice that it is from the chest up, probably because I have your fucking pants, and so you weren't wearing any.

Well I did pass out mostly because I had eaten nothing all day... you know that hectolitres of beer on an empty stomach is never that great an idea! I don't know if they tried to wake me up because it's plainly impossible to wake me up when I fall asleep because of alcohol... oh well...

The tour starts tomorrow in London actually, I was just at Andy's hotel for a meetup thing that some people from the official Hanoi site had arranged. Didn't think he would turn up at first and I would never have expected how the evening turned out. God bless the internet!

About the gigs, I'll keep you posted on how it's going and whatever happens! This weekend is going to be tough as I'm going to Birmingham & Nottingham on sat and sunday. And I expect wild aftershows parties

I've met Michael a few times now but it's almost impossible to have more than 3 words with him because he really keeps to himself and doesn't stay long after the shows. But he's sweet, I'll always remember how a few years back he once he tried to convince a bouncer to let me in after a Backyard Babies show, and I had just spoken to him for like 2 minutes. Nice guy. And for the anecdote I managed to get past the bouncer and met the Babies', Tyla (from the Dogs, I've met many times since as well) and Ginger from the Wildhearts. That was fun.

If you're interested in a recommendation for something to do Friday and in the mood for jazz, try Ron Miles with the Fred Hess Quartet at the Victory Grill in Victory Grill in Austin (1104 E, 11th St.). Ron Miles is a trumpet player who's played a lot with Bill Frisell, but has a couple of nice CDs of his own out in the last couple of years. I don't know much about Fred Hess other than he's a tenor player and a Denver resident and label-mate of Ron Miles.
