cleaning and moving the rings is definitely important. i did all that stuff to keep them clean and mobile. the problem came with moving them around after a fresh stretch. back in the olden days, the theory was that they should be kept moving, just not too much. now, apparently, you're not supposed to touch them for the durration of the heal. makes sense, if you think about it. same reason you shouldn't pick scabs. sorry to be gross. if you drop me an email address, i'll send the pics, unless you'd rather i post them to your journal.
