I checked out the set you did with Chris. IMO the reason it wasn't accepted was the highlights are over-exposed. It seems to me you exposed for the shadows. Shooting mid-day is a big challenge. The set is nice and a great idea, you should try it again with an assistant to help you fill shadows w/ reflector or shoot on a day when the sun is behind a cloud. There are so many ways to control this but most of them require the use of a helper.
I would give it another shot, you really have something there.
