One comment above the person said they did not breast feed because of the sexual way she thought of her breasts. I love breasts, but when I see a child nursing, the sexual attraction never enters my mind and the beauty and wonder of it all are the thoughts instead. And I have been on a plane and the woman next to me was nursing a very young baby, I did not watch her out of respect but knew and that was enough.
You have read tons, you now have ideas, when the baby comes you will see what works for you, that is the best advise I can give. What works for one person may not work so well for you.

I may have felt differently if I had a choice, but Alana was born in my 28th week of pregnancy so she had to be tube fed. She got a mixture of my breastmilk and special formula for preemies. And I did like the fact that when her teeth would finally come out I wouldn't have to worry about weaning.

I was wondering if I had anything to give you but all my friends got all the baby stuff. She does have a forward facing car seat. It's a Britax Roundabout, the second highest rated carseat made. I paid $210 for that lol I wanted to give it to a consignment shop to get some cash back. It's in leopard print so I don't know if you will like that haha. So many times when I was in a drive through people would come to the window to look at it because they had never seen one before. Actually I wanted the zebra print but it was out of stock. You can swap it out because they make a bunch of different fabrics. I have it all washed and wrapped in plastic waiting to give it away to the store or to someone who wants it so just let me know later on if you want it. Just google it for pics.

I'm going to have to second Squrl4..... It's allot easier for those of us that have been really poor to understand.
I did some checking into things here in my city, and was really shocked by the numbers. A reported 2,500 people went through the cities shelters last year.....which is huge for a city of not quite 100,000.
What is really sick is that allot of these people are actually homeless people from cities like SF. They are being imported by addoption lawyers to have babies for addoptions, and after everything is over they are just back on their own. SICK! There is currently nothing in the laws making this illegal though.....Thats what they said. Sounds like human trafficking, and enslavement to me. Of course none of this is openly publisized.....I might have to see what I can do about that. wink
zoophagous:
I should have bookmarked the page I guess. I just tried to find it to send you a link, but this morning all I can get on my search is crap.
I have a really awsome friend that works with under-privelidged kids at the boys & girls home and I'm going to see if she has or can get any info. on it. The article stated that they were given an appartment rent free, and utilities and groceries were paid for untill the addoption. After that....nothing.....not even a thanks for doing buisness.

I saw you on my friend Jin's page and was captivated by your lips.

Sounds kinda strange, I know, but true...

I'd poke around your page, but the site being the way it is at the moment- well, you know.
I honestly think they keep a webdesigner or two on permanent salary and feel that to get their money's worth they have to have them doing something every day.
So, they make up stuff to do like messing with the layout and seeing how much stupider they can make it.
You can go to the "All Things SG" board and log your complaints (though they're more likely to listen to "constructive criticism), which is what I'm gonna go do now...
amendandrevise:
Haha, I concur wholeheartedly. As soon as I get used to the old layout, they throw a new one on me. It's messing me up in all sortsa ways. surreal

The first part of that was hillarious....The rest is a little more touchy.... On a personal level, and not because I agree or disagree, but because it calls for an explanation by me. It is interesting that you posted this because I have had to deal with it for a long time.....seeing people behave in the worst ways under the protection of 'confess and be forgiven'.......bullshit.
I just recently joined the christians group, and do consider myself one, but do not really conform to the accepted mold of what a christian should be. For me it is just the value that the teachings hold for being a good person.
I don't go to church, and do not believe in what the church has become. I also have no respect for people that preach one thing, and then live their lives the opposite. I think that the majority of religion, includeing christianity the way it is shoved off on people, are the equivilent of cults. It is really sad that people aren't open minded enough to think for themselves, and decide what to make of life.
Do I believe in magic?....No....But I do believe in a soul.... What of Heaven and Hell?.....Ask me when I'm dead.
Most of my 'Christian friends' view me as a pagan that needs saveing.....haha...
I think that as long as it doesn't hurt others, people should have the freedom to believe whatever works best for them.
This is something totaly unexplainable....not in a book, much less a paragraph.
I think I'll just keep being me, that seems to work pretty well wink ......I'll be waiting to see what you post next...........
zoophagous:
Wow, I think I may end up likeing you....... smile

Now on hippocracy, and the term hippocrite......
This was one of the most prominent discussions among some friends and I this past week. Simply because in some aspects I'm very conservative, but in others I'm very liberal.

It all starts with the Greek philosipher Hippocrates. Widely heralded as the original founding father of the medical practice. The reality of it is that he was a very sick person that enjoyed experimenting with the sick, cutting up the bodies of the dead, and was known to use slaves as guinnea pigs.
His students were made to take an oath....Hippocratic Oath....that is a translation of the original, but there have been many versions through the years.
Read it if you care to....supposedly all doctors still take the oath, but I know of none that live by it. So they are hippocrits, and that is where the term and meaning are derived from.
I thought it was very interesting, and first heard the term in a book by Michael Crichton
" A Case Of Need " a fiction book that deals with the issue of abortion, and the different views of society on the matter. Only after reading the entire book did I realize that it was written in 1968. An awsome read though....
