Well I made it and it was hell. I like Texas and don't like Louisiana and have no opinion about anyplace else I drove through. Also, my car got demolished on the way (thanks terrible roads in Louisiana) but my insurance is fixing it.

Sorry to hear about your car, but it's a good thing that it'll be fixed w/o dishing out extra funds for it. I've never really had a major problem w/ Texas myself, but northern Louisiana/Western Mississippi had those horrid roads w/ massive pot-holes in them.

Are the roads mostly still red in Mississippi? Just curious since I remember that more than anything else about the roads there...
zpo:
I share you opinions on both Texas and Louisiana. I swear you don't need to see the signs to know you've crossed from TX to La on the interstate. The bumps, dips, and almost ruts in the highway will let you know.

I'll post a few pics of my last 2 roadtips if you'll post some of yours. Adventures in trailer pulling!

Well my car, my embroidery machine and my guns are all loaded into my trailer now. I spent all day yesterday with my son building sides for the bed of the truck. We tried to buy some ready made ones but they are not standard and since my truck is from the Pacific northwest and my trailer is from Ontario Canada nothing local seems to...

Insanely busy doesn't even begin to describe my life. It seems like it is one thing after another. I am moving several thousand miles and getting my house ready to move out and getting everything set up has really taken a toll on me. I was so well moved in. I didn't have a lot of trouble with the big stuff but all the little...

You continue to do interesting things. I have had comparable experiences driving large diesel trucks myself. Good luck, and I hope your new digs accomodate your personality better than your last ones did.

Sounds like a hell of a start to a moving adventure. I don't hear about too many HP fuel pump failures on the 6.0 SDs. It seems like the HPOPs fail more often. I've got a 2002 F250 so I'm subject to the CPS failure - finally have a recall on that one.

I know that feeling of dread/freedom as you decruft. I went through the same process before leaving for Iraq, as part of the divorce, and as a big part of coming back - trying packing your home of 3 years in 72hours. smile

I'm seriously considering a travel trailer for my next home. I may be working 4-5 months in a place then moving to the next. I like the idea of limiting the amount of stuff I can collect and being able to take my home with me on each trip.

Good luck on the move. If you have time to get an EGT gauge, I would recommend it before towing a big trailer with you rig.

Long time no update. I have had a lot going on and not had a lot of time to be on the site as of late, I guess it is a good thing there are a lot of SG's.

there aren't loads of midnytes though, your one of the best people on this site.

Oddly enough, too many, perhaps.

Why are so many people on this site being so bitchy all of a sudden? I'm not even bothering with my groups right now because so many of them seems to have someone in them who is being uncalled for rude or shitty to someone else and I don't even feel like bothering with them. Must be the season.

I hate the holidays.

How's the boy?

It is the season. I'm convinced that everything in the world is shitty for everyone right now. It certainly seems to be that way to me.
It's a bummer for sure.
ps. Back when I was more active on the site, I always really enjoyed reading what you had to say. You seem really intelligent and down to earth.

My son tripped and fell tonight and smashed his face in on the back of a chair. His bridge and septum are broken and his teeth are chipped. Poor kid frown He was pretty unhappy but held it together. He is suffering now and there is little I can do but give him his pill and be sympathetic. This is the second time this year he...

One of the advantages to discovering you 3 months after the fact is I get to ask how he's doing when it's probably safe to guess he's doing much better. There is nothing in the world sadder than seeing your kid hurt or suffering. I hope he got through the whole ordeal in good shape. I have 2 kids and one I don't worry about all that much (even though he has managed in a short period of time to total 2 cars!) but the other puts me in a constant state of agina - go figure. I'm glad you have insurance too!

So I know my parents and others didn't think much of my going to beauty school, or when I decided to go to "real college" for interior design (after a few semesters of business administration, art painting and sculpting and pre law classes) . But I have to say these educational programs have had some rather interesting applications in my real life.

Beauty school spent...

I love being a jack of all trades! smile My recent adventure is telling someone who is looking for artists to present in their store that I create pet sculptures and necklaces. Yea... I've never touched this kind of clay nor have I ever made necklaces... especially not "pet-themed" necklaces. So, we'll see how it goes... and how much I actually sell. I'd be stoked if it really takes off... this last minute learned skill. smile

I bought a few pieces I was missing in my cookware. A second 2 qt pan, a 10" dutch oven, a second 8 Qt pot and my new favorite thing a 10.5" stir fry pot. I have a large wok, and I never liked it much. It is too big for the dishwasher and needs to be seasoned (coated with oil and superheated after washing)....

I feel a little better today. A little bit better only. I have a lot to do this week, including getting myself physically attractive, which at present I am not. My hair isn't colored and I have not done anything with any body hair for a month. It isn't as scary as it might sound, my hair grows so slowly I only normally shave once...

Ok, I'm going to be a bitch here. Today someone sent me a link to this video.

And I'm watching this and saying this woman is truly nuts! Seriously, not only is she feeding the cat unhealthy stuff, but she is taping the utensils onto the thing. HOW DULL MUST HER HUSBAND BE??!!!

Ok, there you have it, I'm a bitch. I can't help it,...
