my god, I am so sorry. My mother in law just passed away on Saturday. Whatever you say, just make sure that you say it. It is terrible when you regret something that you should have said or done. Even if you babble for an hour then say goodbye I am sure that it will be what your dad needs to hear and what you have to say.

Hang in there and I hope there is not too much pain.

What do you say say to someone when you know it is the last thing you will ever say to them?

It depends on who they were. My father knows I love him (I hope!), so I think I'd talk inanities and cry incessantly. But my mom (who was a much bigger influence)....I don't know what I'd say. I think I could do no better than telling her that I loved her.

I hope the day I have to worry about such things is far off, but I fear it will be sooner than I am ready for.

Hey - have you ever tried making baba ghanoush - it tastes a lot like hummus, only with eggplant instead of chick peas - it's a bit more of a pain, but if you get really good, skinny eggplants, it can taste AMAZING. I have a basic 4 ingredient recipe, but I'm sure you can find plenty online.

Even though I'm sure some time has passed I'm STILL sorry to hear of your skateboarding mishap. I was lucky enough to only lose a few yards of skin over the years, never anything major. A kid I grew up with got a compound fracture skating a ramp at home. Another friends mom busted up an arm trying to get on her sons board. All I have to show for it is a scar on one foot from skating in New Orleans back in 81.

I absolutlu hate when people say things in such poor taste. I know sometimes people don't realize what they are saying and don't mean harm but it gets old fast. I personally don't put up with such people, but maybe I'm a snob or something.
