Third time is the charm. Finally will be promoted to E5 (Staff Sergeant). Was satisfying seeing my name on the test results list. I know not a lot of people round here really like me and it was getting cold inside the shop, so to speak. If you say "congrats" and don't sincerely mean it, then just don't say it. It's hollow if you do say it, and it blatantly obvious. With this promotion, I may just reenlist now. Do another six years, getting the juicy reenlistment bonus. I've been thinking about getting FAA certified to work for airlines if I do reenlist. I'd be doing the same job for them as I'm doing now.
I need to switch bases...while I have some friends here, the rest of the people I work with piss me off to no end and it becomes hostile. Luckily I put in for a base of preference before I went on this temporary assignment. Hopefully that goes through and I get it.
Regardless of people's attitudes towards me gaining rank, I'll just keep trudging on. Never let it get to me before, won't let it happen now. Fuck 'em.
