I've noticed it too, and its put a big wrench into more than a few of my weekends.

Some people are going to have to get slapped, I guess.

Update, woo!

Here's some stuff that happened this week:

* I interviewed Terry and Dean of FUBAR fame for my local free weekly, henceforth referred to as [here] mag. I wrote the article last night and this morning, and it'll run next week.

* I'm trying to make my friend Adam let me join his band. I went to one of their practices last...

Sounds like you're enjoying interviewing......when are you going to do one for SG, eh?
aoife:
I am a failure. I need to do that for reals.

My local free weekly put my story on the cover. If they'd just pay me, I'd be all set.

kiss

Edit: After talking to a friend who writes for the same rag, it turns out I probably will get paid for my work. I just gotta harass them a bit. Sweet! biggrin

The littlest birds sing the prettiest songs.

Man, I saw The Chapelle Show for the first time tonight at my friend John's house. Where the fuck have I been??

Finished my article for [here], will submit it in the morning after one, last non-drunk profreading session. Here's hoping they pay me, but even if they don't I guess it's okay.

My boss is out of...

that Dave is pretty funny, Not much on TV that's funnier besides "who's line is it anyway" (which isn't on tv anymore I hear). He gave me a big scare a couple weeks ago when there were rumors of him checking into the crazy house,
aoife:
the answer to that would be a resounding YES. and the best in a LONG time. like, wow.

* I got the green light from [here] to do a 1000-word feature on the local campus/community radio station CHSR. It needs to be done by 4pm Friday. My email inquiring about how much they usually pay for such things went unanswered.

* Federal election is no-go, as are my big plans of finding work as a result of volunteering for a campaign of...

So, after 5 days of regrouping and surprisingly little moping, I've figured out what to do. The plan includes:

* Emailing the editor of my local free weekly to see about doing some freelance work. Apparently they offered my friend Billy a column a while back, but he's busy working in construction and running a record lable, so he had to turn it down....

I know it might seem like a blessing--it did to me. But then imagine your pre-menstrual mental case-ness and imagine that NOT GOING AWAY. EVER. Like, four to six months straight. Not one week out of every four. All of them.
apathyactivist:
I wish I could figure out what to do Post-grad.

I'm not sure about the next election. It doesn't look like June anymore, probably more like January or February. Maybe the NDP will get their act together, who knows. It'd be nice to see them with 60 seats in the house, making noise.

I didn't get into grad school.

Pro:
I don't have to move to Montreal.

Con:
I don't get to move to Montreal.

Damn, that sucks. Are you applying to different grad schools? Go to one in the states. A big city. You'll love it.
nopantsdave:
Where else are you going to apply?

I suck at updating. Meh. Whatever. If you're trying to journal stalk me, I tend to update over here more frequently.

* I'm going to visit my folks for a few days. I don't know why they always hassle me to come see them. Immediately after I get there, they go about doing whatever they would normally do and ignore me completely except at meals....

I will tell them next time I speak to them that they should play in Canada. biggrin
aoife:
of course I will. I will say "hey, you must go see my friend Mary, who lives in New Brunswick. she might even let you sleep on her couch if you play in her town." wink

There's a new pic for you. I took that right before I went out tonight, so I was all dolled up. And by "all dolled up," I mean I straightened my hair and put on some eyeliner. smile

I love Pat so much. He wants to keep playing shows, apparently. Awesome. He was looooaaaded tonight. So was I. Also Dan and Trisha apparently have my sunglasses...

I suck at updating over here. Mostly I'm here.

Some things:
* Today I learned that the applications officer at Concordia in charge of my file has been on vacation for I don't know how long and won't be back until next Monday. This is apparently why my application is in perpetual limbo.
* I have a bacon addiction. I fully expect to gain...

I know just what you mean! My family rolled out the red carpet when my brother/sister graduated and bought them presents and shit. I got nothing! NOTHING! On what grounds do they justify this clear display of favoritism? They say my decision to go to college for a year instead of finishing my OAC year means I didn't technically graduate.

I'm still bitter. mad
doublejesus:
i'd walk across broken glass for bacon...

HURRAH for graduations, i'll be done at the end of the summer.

Sorry for the lack of updates as of late. I discovered a contingent of friends mostly from school on LJ, so I've been spending some time over there. Oh the drama. whatever

* Classes are finished, the work is not.
* Poverty continues.
* Drinking and smoking too much, but not really.
* Soulseek downloading spree also continues. Bands I have recently discovered or rediscovered...

No, I always enjoy hearing speculation on what a good sooper-power would be. It'll be useful in case the canadian govt. feels the need to abduct me and force me to join some kind of super-hero team with powers making them socially adept under any circumstances. smile

I never sat down and listened to fugazi or minor threat. but whenever I hear Ian MacKaye in interviews, he really articulates the ideas of punk and DIY in a way that I totally agree with. he's like my saint of not selling out.
