"You are the Low-Fidelity All-Star. You were born with your cool, and it's totally natural. Your un the gamut from Hipster Supreme (only they can ingest as much coffee as you) to the geeky hipster (Mario Kart, anyone?)."

Hahaha... biggrin So what kind of hipster are you?

Geek Chic. Strange, as I really, really don't like the Velvet Underground.

You're the Fashionable Badass. You'll rank among those legendarily well-dressed, unflaggingly cool badasses of myth: Spike Spiegel, the Reservoir Dogs, Doc Holiday, and the Fifth Element herself.

Good good... life is good.

I really like my new apartment. It's kinda small, but it'll rule when I finally get everything unpacked. I'm gonna put up posters later...

I started writing a paper today, the one about gender issues in horror movies. This is the last of my "fun" papers, all the other ones are social theory and philosophy. Reading Derrida is like trying...

The book I'm reading right now "whiteout" is about CIA involvement in drug running and experiments on people without their knowledge. I've been stuck on the writer of fightclub's books for a while, so I'm taking a break for a while.
So when you say bike do you mean motorcycle or bicycle? I couldnt imagine a helmet law for bicycles. And if so, is it for skateboards, rollerblades, and rollerskates as well? That would be strange.

Top 5 things that rock about moving:

1. The new place is downtown, so it's close to all the bars, the liquor store and the farmer's market. Mmmmm... samosas and beer for breakfast on Saturdays...
1. If I unpack carefully, the new place will at least start out very neat and organized.
2. No roommate!

I have a studio too. My bed is in my kitchen, it gets some laughs from visitors.

No roommate is the best way to be, I so hate living with people now. It is nice to know that when I buy something or if I set something down I don't have to worry about it not being there when I go back to get it.

So, um, why two number 1's and no number 5, eh?

Top 5 Things That Suck Ass About Moving:

1. Having to hit-up friends/family to help me.
2. Carrying my surprisingly heavy loveseat down three flights of stairs.
3. Cleaning the old place from top to bottom before I leave, as well as probably cleaning the new place when I get there.
4. Packing up all the random junk I keep carting around with me --...

awww, what kind of hipsters don't appreciate a good mullet?
nopantsdave:
You know, I have been living here for about two and a half years. I still haven't completely unpacked. That is the key to packing quickly....don't unpack unless you have to. I unpack things as I need them and if I never need them while I am living here then I don't have to pack them next time, or I can justify tossing them (not that I ever really toss anything).

I bow before Your Grace and beg forgiveness for my humble attempt at sharing in your Wonder and Awe-inspiring Slack.

Everytime I have moved I have waited until the last possible second to pack. Fortunately I have very little that needs careful packing as most of the stuff I own are clothes, cd's, dvd's and books. Normally moving for me involves staying up all night the night before while I finally get around to packing and tidying the place up a bit so as to get more of the security deposit back.

Ok....back to reading.....oh, as for your list, I gotta agree with all of them. I get such strange looks when I wear my SpongeBob T shirt, or one of the six or seven other cartoon shirts I have.

Just checking in today to see what sets I missed.

Still writing papers with no end in sight. One of them is about a feminist criticism/interpretation of horror films. Another is about Mr. Nietzsche's take on religion. Still another is about Mr. Derrida's take on religion. Mmmm... good stuff. whatever

Okay, so it's official: I am taking a break from SG until I get all my papers written, so probably a couple of weeks anyway... I should have known this would happen!
