I'm not seeking advice or anything, but my life is quickly spiralling out of control and I need to do some serious venting. surreal

+ I'm unemployed and looks like I will continue to be that way for a while.. all I want is an office assitant job, but there don't seem to be any of those (not even with temp agencies), just lots of service...

frown ah, i'm sorry to hear that you're feeling that way Mary. it's been a difficult year for me too, coming out of university, debts, depression (casual rather than clinical i should imagine), putting on weight, and just feeling lost and numb.

like synnove, i really hope things get better for you soon... have you thought about working as a library assitant? it's low stress and reasonably well-paid. it's worked for me, anyway biggrin take care Mary kiss kiss

So here's what's new in my life:

-- The crazy perfect girl mentioned in my last journal is moving in at the end of the month. She's coming by later today to pick up a key so she can start bringing her shit in. I was saying to approachingtheta that I suspect that she may be a robot like the ones in the Stepford Wives....

dude i'm still amazed that mtv ran something as blatantly subversive as daria. not only did it tear to pieces the creation and marketing of the 'cool' image (basically mtv's purpose for being), but it also managed to capture alot of high school growing up trauma and indoctrination. and the sarcasm people use to protect themselves etc etc. it's such an abrasive show too. the character voices are all just painful. i still haven't figured out if it's a 'girl show' or a 'boy show'. i was never very good at that sort of thing, but i must assume that more girls identify with it just because daria's a girl. i could go on about it for a while...

a funny thing. i met this guy from Alberta in NL and he would borrow all my tv shows on file like simpsons and stuff. he'd never seen daria and he watched some 30 episodes in like a week. daria is a timeless classic. it's really some kind of therapy.

he is actually going to court? GOOD. That kind of shit had and has no place in hockey, and if that fucker got away with it we'd see more of it. We already saw enough headhunting from Niemenen during the playoffs, and that was relatively tame compared to Bertuzzi's talking about "getting" Moore and how there would be a time and a place and an opportunity.

The great roommate search continues. There was a girl here on Friday who seemed nice enough. She's, like, a nuclear medicine technician or some such thing at the hospital. She said that she gets up at 5:00am most days to work out for an hour before she has to get ready for work. She also plays volleyball twice a week and she does pilates. I...

Simply the fact that you had a dream about a real doll rules. $5,000 of morbid sexual confusion, and in the likeness of Avril, that would be amazing... wink
nopantsdave:
Is it wrong that I wouldn't say no if someone offered me a real doll that looked like Avril? I happen to think she's pretty fucking cute....maybe that's cause I haven't heard her music.

You could start a regional group for your own area! I'm not sure why there aren't more for Canada. It seems odd that they only had one for a long time and now only two.

the society's basically just a hangout. ARRR!!!
thepenismightier:
Just had to come by and say your post in NEWS: Teenage girls cry out in terror was spot on exactly how I feel. It's time parents started raising there children instead of letting the television do it for them.

I'm currently reading the second volume of Buddha by Osamu Tezuka.

So somebody on Ebay is finally scalping tickets to the Pixies show in Montreal, which I have a reasonable chance of actually attending. There are 2 problems:

1. The pair of tickets costs $110 US (like, $150 Canadian)

2. The show isn't until the end of November, and I have no way to know if I'll even be able to make it to Montreal for...

pedigree_chump:
haha! very intriguing wink the believer in me would like to think Mary is going to meet Andy Kaufman under the cover of night after a tip off from a small, fat actor disguised as Danny De Vito--- confused ---but the cynic in me believes you're just going to make it up tongue biggrin

and the annoying thing is i have to wait until august to find out mad kiss kiss
