Some of my friends are going to see them in TO. I like the Pixies, but I wasn't going to go to any great lengths to see them. I know in Winnipeg it broke records for how fast it sold out.
atomh8:
I think its the Pixies first tour in about 10 years. It sold out really fast everywhere.

aoife:
There's been tons of voter turnout, but that's no fucking excuse for the way they've handled this. It's scary. We all KNOW there are going to be problems tomorrow, it's past even thinking and worrying.

My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw the clip. I wish I was watching it live.

I have the feeling it might be a 'where were you when' moment. (At least for those in media studies.)

I want to see campus.

I think it's crazy that you are more involved in US politics than most people in the US.

Job hunting does fucking blow. And it irritates the piss out of me how homosexuality=death even in quality indie flicks (A Home At the End of the World?), or if they don't die, they get "cured."
pedigree_chump:
i love that you have a list of your CD collection online!! biggrin gawd, i'm sure you have as much, if not more, than me, but it seems like such a gigantic task... i couldn't face that eeek

Comments about Things:

* an Election party would be good. i'm a sucker for election specials. i hate Northern Irish politics, (and in so many ways i hate politics--- so much so than i'm getting a doctorate in it surreal ), but the election specials here have the same kind of nail-biting drama that the up-coming US elections will have. ^^interesting point that aoife makes. i probably know more about US politics than I know about Irish or British politics. i was drinking with a guy a few weeks back, who was from Larne but had returned from a few years in Boston, and he was really surprised at how much we cared about the whole Bush/Kerry thing. For a lot of people I suppose it's a pop-culture/laugh-at-the-americans kind of thing, and to a certain extent, i can't deny that appeals to me at some level too biggrin but in truth, this election is so important and significant for the rest of the world too--- America being the world's biggest superpower. Strange that some people can't see that surreal

(By the way, I'd love to come to you election party--- i have a wobbly-headed statue of Bush, which i want to topple, Sadaam-like, if he's deposed. Or smash to pieces in a fit of rage if he isn't. Which seems the more likely outcome, if I'm honest).

* I'm sure you'll get a job over Christmas. The mall sounds good from your other journal, so good luck Maz, it's high time you had fate work in your favour! kiss

* I love Big Gay Al. In his ass! That would be an interesting one, what with South Park being a twisted politically incorrect satire on small-mindedness and bigotry. I'd enjoy reading your essay on that biggrin

* Lame joke about a fruit, which ties in, accidentally, with the previous topic. whatever tongue

Random place on campus, as long as the dish-cabinet thing gets put to another vote in a later entry.
