I'm still undecided on whether flame wars are funny. They're funny when a troll is getting barbecued from all sides, but depressing when it looks like someone is seriously arguing a peabrain position (because, wtf, we have to share the world with these people?!). Also depressing when someone you ordinarily like is up there demonstrating a total lack of critical reasoning skills, and also not being funny.

I came close to doing the same thing near the end of my freshman year. It was just one awful English professor who completely traumatized me -- I never took another English class again after that one. God he was awful. I turned the course's final paper in three weeks late by sliding it under his office door when I knew he wouldn't be there, and that was it for me. That close to dropping out.

So yeah. Sympathies. You know what's best for you, and you're too cool a person to let this be the end. Eventually you'll get to where you need to go.

I'm considering getting one of my nipples pierced. (I figure one at a time, should complications arise.)
