Back to work after having three days off, and my boss had someone call me to have me in three hours earlier than scheduled. working 11 am to 9 or 10pm. puke
girly:
That's nothing. My husband has been going in at 2am and working until 2:30 or 3pm. At least you're awake during normal waking hours. wink

The alarm woke me up this morning out of a sound sleep. I wanted to go right to bed, but instead went to the bathroom, then headed right back to bed. But I didn't hear my mother walking around who is usually up by then. So then a different type of alarm set in. I had visions of her lying dead in her bed (She's...

Feeling blah. Calling in sick.

By the way, am I the last person on Earth to know about Jill Tracy's music? I'm totally entranced. Check out. http://www.jilltracy.com/

Now my two current favorites are Jill Tracy and the Dresden Dolls!

Ten hour day on less than four hours of sleep. Bleery-eyed.

Gonna look for a new job this week on my days off. I have tomorrow off, and I know HR offices won't be open, but maybe I can schmooze with some dept heads at some places.

Still dying to see My Date With Drew. Maybe I'll squeeze that in too.

Requested by my husband. tongue

yeah, that could be the case. i have still to find out why i have high bloodpressure. my father and both my sisters have it, so they feel it runs in the family and i should just "accept it" like that. i refuse to do so though. if there`s anything i can do about it, i will.

Crappy day. Rang up $1,300, then got a return got $2,500, then a drop more than that and ended the day with $257. Did not make my quota because of the return.

There are worse things in life. Can't complain about anything lately, after the devistaion in New Orleans and MS.

Reading a great book: The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon. This...

Just heard from my friend Nicole. She had to move out of MS, and she's now headed for her mom's place. The people there were getting unruly. Everyone was down to only one water bottle each. It' looked as if it was going to turn ugly.

She's fine, but only has a few pieces of clothes, one pair of flip flops, and one pair of...

Aww I wish I had money to help too! It makes me angry how people need help and do we hear anything from celebrities right now? Funding is bragging about the whole 200,000 they have raised.. when.. why hasn't a damn celebrity reached in their pocket and pulled out 500,000 in petty cash yet? GRRR!

*Edit because I can't spell*

Finally got through to the local FEMA office, and they assured me that the section of MS my friend is staying at did NOT have the devistation that Gulfport did. He also assured me that her Motel 6 is still standing. They also told me power and phone lines won't be restored for about 4 to 6 weeks.

At least I know that her hotel...

So I called the Red Cross, they gave me the number to call FEMA, I call that number, and they give me a FEMA number for the local area where my friend was staying, but all I get when I call is a constant busy signal. Still no word.

Then I hear on the news there are countys caliming over 100 dead, but of course,...

Back to work. Early Shift. Might go to a screening of The Baxter. Elizabeth Banks will be there. She's the hottie who played Beth in The 40 year-old Virgin (which I saw last night--funny as hell).

A friend of mine who lives in Nawlins took shelter in MS, now I can't get in touch with her to find out how she is, and I'm sick...

Got up early to iron some shirts. Also have to pack for this two day wedding I'm leaving for this weekend.

I have the dreaded 2 to close shift today.

Jazzed that a book on Chung Ling Soo (famous magician) is being held for me at half price! Picking it up this morning--just got the call it came in last night. I can read it...

*laughs* No no I haven't submitted a set yet. But I'm hoping in the FIRST try I'll get accepted. Heh.. yeah I probably need rejection since I've never really experienced much of it before. But oh well, it's nice that way too. =P
calypso:
I'm positive she'll call you, darling.

Have fun at the wedding! If nothing else, there should be some single women there. Pull some good "Wedding Crashers" moves!

Ugh. Closing shifts are the absolute worst. I think they should increase your pay rate for the time you spend closing! It's a pain in the ass.
