If you want, I'm willing to "talk" to your professor with my elbow. I like a little violence every now and again. Especially when I can act like there's a good reason behind it.

That sounds like a mistake. You've already emailed your professor, right? That's definitely the thing to do. And if it's not a mistake, politely ask how one can have a B all semester/quarter and end up failing the class . . . You can say one of your professor friends at another school told you to ask that.
