I never take my own advice been working almost every day since 31st Dec and will be flying to Houston in the morning but I will get a cool beer in Sams Boat when I get to town.

it's actually not a bad time to start a business if you're marketing to the hippie crowd in a semi-progressive area (i know theres not much of that in florida haha, but i'm sure some part of it has to have an organic food shop or something). all of the companies that sell useless nice expensive things are going under, and all of the farmer's markets and green businesses are actually doing better instead of worse. if it's handmade, environmentally friendly, vegan, or organic, people will still be buying it. GM is laying off thousands of people and yet thousands of new jobs have also just opened up in fuel cell research to make clean energy. and because everything's doing so poorly, it's going to be a lot cheaper for you to start a business now rather than before. and honestly, if you're selling food, people aren't going to stop eating food, and if that ever does happen, you'll need a gun, not money. haha. you could always sell some shit on the internet or the street corner and see how that goes first. it's all about location, marketing, and fabulous customer service. i'm sure it won't be hard to find progressive customers since you're a hot chick with dreads. the revolution is coming; it's just coming slowly and quietly.
