It's so hard to understand. He spends the same amount of time with me, he talks to me the same amount... why did he break up with me?

because boys can be stupid.
that has happened to me a few times.
just try not to have any ex sex. its bad news!

good luck.
dannydmc:
My sister's ex is the same way. He broke up with her because he said he thought he was 'too immature' and then keeps hanging out with her and inviting her places. Boggles my mind too. My best guess is the guy in question is rather confused about what he's doing. That being said, he's not being fair to you at all by doing this sort of thing.

First one looks like you just had a cry.
Second one is what I'd like to see before I plant one on you. smile

Good choice on the profile pic wink

Today my best friend told me this in an IM:

"Well, I love you very much, and I know you're having a really hard time right now. However long it takes your heart to heal, I'll try to bring as much love, humor, strength, and rectal thermometry to your life as possible."

He's my pillar. But he's not going the way of the thermometer. wink

Thermometry is a word? surreal

Be happy.

September is the month of the anniverary of my spawning... I think I may have a week off towards the 23rd, however to a non-driver Ireland might as well be a hundred miles away.

The Doleful Lions: my new favorite band. Oh, Doleful Lions, where have you been all my life?

Thanks for the comments in my journal; I need to update it soon since i'm not feeling nearly as meloncholly anymore, especially after I visited a few universities this past week. So, what tpe of music are the Doleful Lions? I've fallen in love with the Dresden Dolls the last few weeks.
leola:
Great idea... I'll see if I can come up with something!

It's over. It's really, really over.

There. I said it.

And I'm going to be OK.

What do I say when I know I've already said everything? Why do I still have what feels like a need to be heard?

I can't give up right now. Maybe it's denial. Maybe it's the death drive: a compulsion to repeat the pain of the past. What happens when I can't repeat?

Josh and I are taking a break. It may be permanent or it may be temporary. I'm feeling better about it than I thought I would. I'm just going to keep busy for the next few days to keep my mind off the sad stuff, and then I'm gonna re-evaluate the romantic aspect of our relationship. No matter what, though, he's one of my best...

does that mean i can be your girlfriend now? im getting back sunday. we'll have a date shortly after.
dannydmc:

I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles with your boyfriend. No doubt you're going to get tons of people giving you the same advice, and you prob'ly know what most of it is already. I've only known you on here for a few short weeks, but you seem in an increadibly nice and intelligent person; things will turn around for you if you let them. Just take a deep breath, go hang out with some friends who you can co-miserate with (after all, what are friends for but to listen to us when we're feeling down smile ), and don't feel bad if you're going to be going through ups and downs for a while. Its perfectly natural. I remember the last girl who broke up with me, it took a while to get sorted out again; one day I'd be fine nad feeling on the top of the world and the next I didn't want to get out of bed. Just hang in there m'girl!

One of my best friends in high school had a job at a Carvel ice cream. We'd go there for all the ice cream we could eat like every day. You never EVER get sick of eating ice cream! smile

There is something kind of hot about girls who beat up boys, but there nothing at all erotic about this girl just kicking me directly in the head by accident. Wish there was. Oh well. smile
shortchanged:
ICE CREAM FOREVER!!! hehe, talk about brain freeze... you know the gallon challenge? i'm trying to get a bunch of friends to do a gallon of ice cream challenge.

Is it PMS, or am I getting the Gaslight* treatment? I'm super sensitive. I know that part is PMS. But I'm also being made to feel like if my feelings are hurt, it's entirely my fault, and I'm not sure it really is. Am I crazy?

*If you haven't seen the movie Gaslight, you should. Classic psychological thriller.
thelibra:
I don't know about that Gaslight thingie, but I've been super sensitive, too! I've not got a lick of PMS in sight though.
stella_marie:
havent seen the movie

my grandpa is ill so im down here visiting

I met Josh's parents. They were really nice. And meeting someone's family really tells you so much about where that person came from. I learned a lot, and the circumstances inspired Josh and I to have some good conversations.

I learned PS in 1997, and didn't pick up a camera 'til 1999. I used Photoshop (versions 4 and 5) as artistic tools- I always wanted to be an artist, though the problematic obstacles to that were a) not finding a medium I was good enough with, and b) not having any inspiration.

My profile pic was done entirely from memory using the brush and eraser tools, for example. Photos aren't necessarily part of Photoshop wink
nadzofsteel:
Is that why I fear introducing my parents to girls? wink

Hooray for the Nuyorican Poets Cafe! I don't slam, but I did read, and I did really enjoy the whole experience. I wanna go back.

This weekend it looks like I'll be going down to Virginia and meeting Josh's parents.

What type of poem did you read? We have an open poetry night pretty soon I think I'm going to go to.
