Sometimes I try very hard to reach out to people. Many of you have been very, very kind to me. I owe you a lot of thanks. You're the reason I keep going. Even if you don't think you mean very much to me, if I've ever reached out to you at all, please know that it means a lot to me when you listen....

you okay, babe? ill give yas a call tonight if you have something on your mind.

as for your truth in my journal...that doesnt bother me. ive known a lot of girls (and dated a lot for that matter) who do that. the only peculiar thing about the practice is that it seems to be something predominately done by women....i dont recall ever knowing any guys who do that. i wonder why that is.

No Regrets

Out of love,
No regrets--
Though the goodness
Be wasted forever.

Out of love,
No regrets--
Though the return
Be never.

I'm feeling lonely today. I hope my thrift store shopping excursion will help. I can keep company with Josh (who is, admittedly, an excellent shopping buddy) and some musty old clothes.

I'm missing a few people who aren't anywhere near me right now. I want to spend time with them and I can't, and that makes me sad.

I just got done with my travels and will be beginning the long trek up to Alaska tomorrow night, so I know what you mean by being lonely. When I was one the road I was always either hanging out with friends or else traveling to another city where I'd be meeting some old friends; when I got back home earlier this week it was a bit of a let down; suddenly I didn't have many friends around and those who were there had their own lives and weren't increadibly excited to see me either. And, of course, I'll be heading back up to my village soon where it will be next to impossible to see any of them; its really a bit of a downer.

Luckly it hasn't all been bad, I went with my Dad to visit his Dad and my Aunt Pam and had a good time; I figure that every time I visit my family I get more and more dirt to hold over my Dad's head smile Also he's finally starting to open up to me a bit more about his childhood and such, so I'm learning more about the side of the family which, much to my own shock and occasional horror, I've come to understand that I take after more.

Last night I did some singin' with Josh at a bar. It went really well. We had a great time, sounded good, and felt comfortable. We're going to play in that bar again in a couple of weeks.

It also looks like I'm going to do some vocals for Doleful Lions. Remember how I blogged a while ago about them being my new favorite band?...

I went to Prospect Park to see/hear a screening of the 1931 Dracula accompanied live by Philip Glass and the Kronos Quartet. It was awesome, but the movie only got about 1/3 of the way through. Some thunder and lightning set in and, although they added great effect, it wasn't exactly safe for all the electrical equipment. The show was cancelled. It started pouring. My...

Who wants to hear me sing? That's right: you do. So go to this page, click on "Lucy," and listen to my background vocals.

Last night I did karaoke and drank more gin and tonics than I can count. So tell me: why am I awake at 9 A.M?

Update: I went back to sleep and had the most fabulously strange dream. It was set in Paris, and I was a superhero in a fight against homophobic Scientologists who wanted to burn the city to the ground. I'm not...

The other night, Josh was over late and asked if he could sleep in my bed. To which I responded: "WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! What the hell is the matter with you? No!".

Part of me, of course, wanted to say yes. But I didn't. I'm happy about that.

Last night I went to Rubyfruit with a couple of friends, and now I think I've met every twenty-something lesbian in New York City. Not that I'm complaining. They're a fun and stunningly beautiful bunch.

Last night was a girls' night out. It was fantastic: Chinese food, ice cream, drinks, and good conversation. I never really had female friends until college because when I was growing up I found all the girls in my hometown... well, frivolous. I wanted to do something with my life and they hadn't thought beyond doing something with their makeup. We had nothing in common...
