I like the Beatles, but I must confess that I have not reallly listened to a lot of their stuff. The Beatles seem to be one of those bads thats are pretty universal meaning that just about everyone can enjoy listening to their music.

I would try a Florida author like Tim Dorsey or Carl Hiaasen. They're both really quirky, insane, and funny. Striptease and Tourist Season by Hiaasen are excellent and Florida Roadkill and Orange Crush are two of Dorsey's best.
