I think I'll splurge on myself by getting some supermarket Sushi. A real indulgence.
I saw No End In Sight, a documentary about Iraq. It was pretty disturbing. Great film. Too bad the only people that will see it are already pre-disposed to agree with it (like me). The people who would benefit most from this film would never watch it in a billion years, since it's easier to just call it "liberal garbage" and have done with it without bothering to even entertain the notion that their viewpoint might not be correct. The same with books by people like Ann Coulter. Do any non-conservatives read her books? I would think mostly her fan-base is republicans who already agree with her opinion. We really like, in this country, to have our own beliefs reinforced much more than challenged. This is true on both sides of the political spectrum. Meanwhile, since I saw No End In Sight and wouldn't dream of reading Ann Coulter, I am as much a part of the porblem as anyone else. Happy Birthday, John.

. I agree that people tend to stay to their own beliefs... challenges are too uncomfortable for some people, but I feel that's when we learn... if we are comfortable we're not growing.
