Really ... really? Maybe my memory is playing tricks, but could swear SG sets have tamed down quite a bit over the years - I don't want to see all the spice removed (and wouldn't mind feeling the heat cranked up a bit).

I hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I had a tumor removed from the nerve ending at the bottom of my spine many years ago. It caused a ton of pain in my leg and no one knew what was causing it for over a year. The surgery went fine and I've been fine since. I know it can be scary dealing with shit like this, but you're in my thoughts.
