First off I wish you well. I am sorry to hear you are going through a bout of poison ivy. I'm terrified of the stuff that I've lucked out n never gotten it.
As for books, these are some suggestions I have. They are all historical fiction but LOVED every single one of them, they are also overlapping stories of the same time period but in different parts of the Europe.
The Queen's Mistake: In the Court of Henry VIII by Diane Haeger Based on One of the wives of Henry the VIII towards the end of his rein.
The Religion: A Novel by Tim Willocks Based on the history of the siege of Malta by the Ottoman
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory About Henrys 2nd wife (you may have already read this or seen the movie. There is more in here than the movie had)
In the Company of the Courtesan: A Novel by Sarah Dunant AMAZING STORY. Based during the same time Henry VIII was married to Ann Boleyn. You will see a connection between the two stories. Sad story but really interesting.
And lastly this one is post Henry VIII but is still a great read based on a historical rumor that Queen Elizabeth, Henry's daughter, had a child (this history stated male but they changed it to female for the book). The Virgin Queen's Daughter: by Ella March Chase
Most of them are kind of short with the exception of The Religion. I could suggest many more books if you are not into historical fiction.

Using my wii to make a quick update. My computer cord is fried so I haven't had any way to turn it on. It should be fixed soon. I worked at St. Pete gay pride two days ago. It's the biggest pride festival in Florida. Details and pictures when I get my computer running again.
