Unfortunately, there are very few industries in the U.S. that are still growing. We may see a resurgence in technology (hopefully), but right now nursing is one of the biggest in-demand fields. Might be worth looking into nursing schools - it's possible they would even pay for your education in return for a guaranteed number of years with them.

Sorry I missed the launch of your newest set. I've been without interwebs at home, and am currently hanging out at Offutt AFB in Nebraska for the next couple weeks. I try to get on here as much as I can while I'm able to access the internet, but sometimes I just can't check it, being that I'm using a public computer and someone might take offense to me getting on a "nudie site." Still, the set is fabulous. Then again, when HAVEN'T you had a good set?

At any rate, I totally concur with your rant. The same things apply to most any profession. Everyone's trying to hire younger people to replace everyone that's old hat. It's especially so in the military. But nothing can replace the wisdom and knowledge of someone who's been doing said trade for X amount of years more.
