New things for me:

Last week, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts (Internet Studies) and the confirmation has now come through. I've not studied before, so this will surely be interesting. Moreso as it is through Open University, which means I'll have to motivate myself to work.

I agree there are better ways to secure a building and maintain it's architectural integrity, we use a wide range of covert cameras in our work. Some people just have no imagination at all.

NOPE! Not photos of the BBQ yet. They'll turn up eventually but I still have to get through all of these old travel photos.

Today was a lazy day overall, but I did manage to get further through Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum. I'll finish that book eventually. And I also managed to get some photos up online.

If you're interested in visiting China, why...

EDIT: I've finished uploading my Trans-Siberian photos to my flickr set.

Here's the usual blog entry that everyone's expected to do.
Essentially, I had a great time and met loads of interesting peoples. I was terribly hungover from Saturday night, though, which meant I was not very cheerful at the BBQ. But, I did have a good time, honest.

Played Scrabble on Saturday night,...

Oh! I got linked! tongue

I imagine attending the BBQ in the heat and bright sun with a hangover might have made it hard to look excited and happy about being there!
Still, you were very funny in your special sore head way.

Re is funny. And such a good winner! biggrin

Hi, was great to meet you (and your memorable BBQ joke) yesterday! tongue
kye:
Haha at lostkebana. Your joke was very memorable indeed!

Great to see you again. Look forward to seeing how the pictures of the fog & moon on Saturday night turned out.

Before you know it, you will have to start a Scrabble group on SG. It appears you have half of the Brisbane/GC members hooked. Myself included.

That's utterly utterly bizarre... What are the chances that I'd look through an aussie's pictures and find a picture of Nectar of the Gods (i.e. A&W Rootbeer) WHILE I'M DRINKING A ROOTBEER! And I don't care what anyone says, it's not the same as sars!

I hit the wrong button so now I guess I have to make a comment.

I have no idea what to say so I will just leave a kiss

See you tomorrow

What with all the retro stuff going on here lately like putt-putt and bowling, I hereby prepare you all for another suggestion!:

Board games.
Scrabble, Monopoly, Battleship ... whatever you have: I say bring it on! ARRR!!!

We just need to sort out a when (and a where?). Who's up for it?

I read in Re's blog that you were looking for someone with a scrabble game.
I have one.
Let me know if it is required smile

Who would have thought the promise of playing scrabble would be this exciting?!?!

TAPIRS!!!! biggrin *does happy tapir dance* I think they're fantastic creatures. And really not mentioned enough, in my view. I think there should be a tapir song. Or national anthem devoted solely to tapirs. The possibilities are endless, really.

I have something to be excited about!

I just discovered that my favourite UK restaurant, Wagamama, has restaurants in Australia! Woo! love

My nearest are in Brisbane: Chermside or the Valley.

Anyone fancy a dinner out soon in Brisbane?

Best Japanese food outside Japan.

(well, it's more of a Japanese/English fusion, but it's closer to Japanese -- and for those who just don't get...

Hell I'm biased because I love Alfonso. Put it this way he's just gone in my mind on par/above Jeunet and that's saying a lot.
