I'm pretty behind myself, but I think I could catch up if I put in a few solid hours today. The question is... will I?

I thought that last entry might be source of some nostalgia camp-moment comments, but perhaps not.

What have I been up to? Glad you asked.

Last night I went to see a presentation of 'Quills' at the Mainline Theatre, with my dear goth-queen friend Tifany. (I know it's a funny name for a goth). I do love De Sade dearly, who isn't gay for the...

Tyrese "finest actor of our generation" Gibson? Star of such screen gems as Four Brothers and Transformers? Yeah. I had no idea who that was either. But it's like...theoretically impressive.

I suck at counting sleeps but if yr in the ccity still check out SG Mtrl for literarily ones of Abbie related festivites.

I realized recently I haven't been reading anything like the amount I used to so I've been picking up a lot more books lately. This is a good thing as lately all my reading had been non-fiction about world travel and lifestyle management.. two things that greatly interest me.. oh and on poker as well. So in the spirit of branching out I've been gravitating...

ahh, bonsai. i used to have one, but only for a few years. are you starting one from a cutting or are you getting one that's already propagated?

i still appreciate 'em and all, but these days i think plants are beautiful and interesting enough without having to miniaturize and sculpt them.

mmm roasted red peppers. i always liked 'em best with a lemon/white wine based sauce, though, say, with lots of basil and parsley. and clams! oh, i've been craving clams so bad lately, all i can find for sale around here are farm-raised. frown

Today I woke up at 1 pm, incredibly drunk.

I tried staving off the drunkenness in bed, but unfortunately the version of Yamakasi I downloaded was in German, so I was prompted to join the world.

I ate the leftover tortellini verde in my fridge, drank a glass of water. Stumbled around like a goose with a lazy eye gonked out staring into an LED...

Ha! I do really call him Beard, though; he's got one. smile

I'm not adventurous whatsoever with my tea, and I sort of don't know why. I think I just don't know where to start. I take your most basic, Lipton black tea--with milk and a couple sugars.

What day do you arrive again? I lost your flights details. But if it's the 2nd we'll go to a dyke party so that you'll be able to check if Parisian lesbians listen to Nouvelle Vague or not.
And my mum is going to make us an awesome french diner with good wines and champagn.
YUMMY.

One month until Paris.

Ophelie's set the bar high for Parisians - funny, filthy, cute, arty, and vaguely blase. Pretty much how I imagined Parisians were my whole life of romanticizing France.. apparently it's not like that, but I'll have a blast. I refuse disappointment.

Until then.. take it away Screamin' Jay...

When I went to France, it WAS exactly like that.
And exactly like every other way any one had ever imagined it or described it to me.
And exactly like in every movie you've ever seen that takes place there. Of every Period.
Feels like what Dimitri from Paris sounded like, to me, at least, in 2001.

Take a train, a road trip, and try to find yourself in a village called Chatillon-Coligny, south of Paris, in Berri-Limousin, to a restaurant of the same name. Best meal I've ever had. Ever.

When I moved to Montreal it was because I was getting bored of all the things I was used to doing and having the same types of conversations with the same people. (although now I miss some of those conversations - there's not as many weirdos out there as I'd like).

So that's starting to happen again. I'm growing a bit weary of Plateau fabulousness,...

What is it you're looking for in all these places?
I found mostly the same old shit, expressed in another language.
Some places tend to attract more interesting people, true.
But predictably excellent conversations come from cultivating fascinating friends, imho.
