Also, as for restaurants in Montreal. I am looking for 3-4 places to take friends who will be in town for 2 weeks. So far I have Aux Vivres for lunch one day, and Noir for the simple fact that I haven't been there and have heard it is interesting.
Really though, I am looking for a small cross-section of places that would be worth going to. Dives, Bistros, High-end restaurants, whatever works.
How much was your flight to Paris, if I may ask? I'm starting to figure out an approximate budget.

ahh, bonsai. i used to have one, but only for a few years. are you starting one from a cutting or are you getting one that's already propagated?
i still appreciate 'em and all, but these days i think plants are beautiful and interesting enough without having to miniaturize and sculpt them.
mmm roasted red peppers. i always liked 'em best with a lemon/white wine based sauce, though, say, with lots of basil and parsley. and clams! oh, i've been craving clams so bad lately, all i can find for sale around here are farm-raised.
