Cha-ching! My friend's connection came through and we got ourselves some box seats, gratis, for Tuesday night's Sox-Angels game. The weather might suck, but I'm willing those tropical storms away. I get to knock around Boston all day tomorrow, regardless, and I haven't had a chance to do that in a long, long time.

Yesterday was supposed to be a day off, but apparently the...

Eagles...I'm a my-friends-are-watching-so-I-guess-I-will-too fan. I did get pretty into it at the end of last season.

I wish I were at the Sox's game to see the Elvis' flying! Tell me how the game was tonight. smile

So Tuesday will be interesting. An old co worker of mine who's visiting NH/VT for a week wants to go to a Red Sox game with me... so we tried to see if anymore tix were available for Tuesday night, and of course, nada. They do release a handful of sloppy-seconds tickets a few hours before gametime though, so we decided we're going to cast...

The deep cuts show sounds gear. Could you give me a few examples of the kind of tracks you play? This sort of thing is interesting to me. Where I live the only thing worth listening to is the classic rock station and even that gets tedious. I mean, how many times do we have to hear Slow Ride or Dream on?!? Man, I wish radio was listenable again...

Good luck with the tickets.

Y'know... I think one of my favorite cuts from "The Love Below" is "Prototype." Makes me think of the Bob Welch-era Fleetwood Mac, if they hung out with Earth Wind and Fire and the horn players forgot to show up. That's what it would sound like.

Give it a whirl if you've skipped this track in the past.

So, I discussed a possible sales job outside of radio back in the Worcester area, where I'm from. Good money potential, and still thinking about it...

but...

I don't think I'm ready to give up on radio yet, in spite of my dissatisfaction with my wallet after five years. Besides, fall is coming, then winter, and letting go of being a ski reporter is too...

I say never ever bail out of doing what you truly love. Ski your heart out as long as you possibly can!! (of course I don't have the guts to follow my own advice so perhaps I shouldn't be dishing it out) good luck! l8r kiss

Boy am I glad I finally took a chance on trying out some Camper Van Beethoven. I've been missing out on the following words for years:

Club Med Sucks!
Authority Sucks!
I hate golf!
I wanna play lacrosse!

Nothing much else to report, other than the fact that my winter job surprised me with an off-season bonus check. Boy did I ever need it.

whatever

Don't let this morning end.

The forecast for today originally presaged doom and gloom and cool weather and buckets of rain. The cool weather is present this morning but it's gorgeous out. Granted, it's only the first week of August, but cool almost-autumn mornings are what I live for and are often a prime motivator for me to wake up early. Certainly it will get...

album that inspires me... hmmm.... i dont even know... too many to say really, im a constant music listener and almost everything i listen to inspires me in some way kiss
sweetbean:
there are so many songs that inspire me that it's so difficult to say. but, there is a huge difference between a single inspiring song and an entire album. if I had to pick one, right at this second it would be the smalls' last album, my dear little angle. it's amazing. the more you listen to it, the more that becomes apparent. anyway, moving on.

i've never been out east; that's a roadtrip waiting to happen. smile have you ever come out west here to ski? what's the skiing like down there? the rockies are my mountains, so lucky to have them right here.

your job sounds incredible. my take is, money isn't as important as the job itself so I say ski your heart out!! I've got a boring desk job and would only be able to teach on weekends.

thank you for the compliments btw, very sweet. blush

l8r! kiss

Don't you hate it when you get a cold and it fades away, comes back, and fades away... and... you get the picture. Fortunately I'm on a "fades away" streak but my voice has been on the brink of laryngitis for the past week. I had to croak my way through my public address duties this past weekend but survived. Today I had the good...

This just in:

I've cut my hair and shaved my beard.

So much for being Johnny Damon this Halloween blackeyed

Feeling much more aerodynamic, on the upside.

Thanks for reading, please drive through.

The Sox beat the Yankees, second time straight. Still way behind in the AL East but this will get me by for the moment, 'specially considering at this hour I'm four sheets to the wind. Reporting from "home" aka Worcester, MA, a little fam visit if you will.

My Tom Brokaw impression sucks but it seems to get a chuckle. Maybe someday i'll do it...

i take it you've never seen the snl skit where brokaw is going out of town and the network wants to cover their bases in case the former president dies? every ridiculous scenario is being tossed out, and dana carvey is just having fit with all the crazy scenarios. i finally losses it when he says that ford was mauled by tigers.

And the Red Sox win again tonight. I've had this battle going over whether to grow my hair out or cut it short, but I'm gonna let it all hang out. Johnny "Jesus" Damon would want it that way.

Actually my entire life has been a constant battle between long hair or short, shaved, goateed' or fully bearded. You rarely see the same combination twice....

Yes, "Slow Dancer" also a fabulous album! I don't own it, but my father does, and everytime I go to see my folks I pop that album in. I grew up on Boz, Steely, Stan Getz and just a whole bunch of great great jazzy type music of that era. There is a reason Boz won album of the year in 1976 (77?)! Good shit.

tonguemiao!!

I definitely have to agree with you about the experiential nature of "Pysical Graffiti," I just listened to the whole album straight through for the first time a few days ago. (I don't own the album personally, I just have all the tracks on my computer.)

And you know, I've known some pretty fascinating loaves of bread, so you may not be as boring as you think.
