That's great. I was about halfway through the quote and I thought to myself, "well, that's what drugs are for," and then I reached the end and realized that that was the point. This has little to do with your journal entry ... I just noticed that you listed Baraka as one of your favourite films. I just saw it for the first time and it was bloody amazing. I recommend "Song of Ceylon" (Basil Wright) and "Forest of Bliss" (Robert Gardner) if you haven't already seen those. They aren't as slick as Baraka, but still great documentaries.

So I was bored today and playing mandolin in union square (see my journal entry--it was a good day) and finally checked out that store Lush. man the soap there is really crazy and super expensive. my fingers still smell all soapy.
i love the fact that i live near a 24 hour grocery store. this means that when i wake up at midnight due to a royally fucked sleep schedule, i can walk over and get an onion and some broccoli to make myself some breakfast!

PS....16 Horsepower are absolutely one of my favorire bands of all time. Saw them on the SACKCLOTH AND ASHES tour in like '96 at a very low point in my life (a girl, can you imagine?) and I was dragged to this show and they absolutely blew me away. That intensity! David Eugene Edwards is a very underrated musician. It is in the top 5 shows I have seen in my lifetime.
