The bridal party (particularly Yaz) are fans. I think they'll try and convince the group to go. Don't know what their chances are like though. Moola is the big problem really.
I have to agree with your hubby, Australians generally miss out on sheer spectacle. Its not that we necessairly miss out on the bands but they rarely bring all their gear (or people) all this way. Even Portishead who had been touring with orchestras hear and there didn't even attempt to assemble one for Melbourne.

Well, the rain came into Perth a little early this year, so it's kinda been not-Summer for the past week or so here. Which is nice. Cause I likes it that way. Except when I got drenched on the way to work and had to put up with stupid questions like, "Did you get wet?" or "Is it raining outside?"
"No. I just got 'get dressed' and 'have shower' around the wrong way this morning" ...
It's all in the delivery, really. Deadpan. Gotta do it deadpan.

Love the photo, it puts me in mind of Japanese cherry blossoms; beautiful in and of themselves, but also laden with symbolism. Nice.
On another note, I just figured out where I got 'good for you' from: Kevin Spacey (one of my all-time favourite actors), playing Lester Burnham (one of my all-time favourite characters) says it in American Beauty (one of my all-time favourite films). Well actually, he says 'good for her' but the sentiment is the same.
