That's really sad to hear. I've been in similar situations. What I've done during those times is found an item or two around the apartment that has *some* value to it that I don't need and put it on Ebay. I can live without a camera lens that I only touch three times a year if it means I can go to the grocery store. Just a thought in case you have anything laying around you could be rid of.
I hope it all works out. Let me know if I can do something small to help.
EDIT: I just thought of something else. Maybe you could upload some of your photos to sites such as DeviantArt or other places that allow you to sell the photos online. You could then promote them as a "help me and get a cool photo at the same time" deal here or elsewhere and see if people buy prints of them. I would!

Oh you crazy kids.... shame about the sweater, though. I've done the same and been completely dumbfounded as to where a certain article of clothing could have gone. You could tag all your clothing with RFID locator tags or something but it just may be cheaper to buy another sweater. Sorry. At least the fun looks like it was worth it.
