ok. one sunday when i was about 16 or 17 i was driving in a snow storm. my best friend, dierdre, was with me. i was on drugs back then and i was pretty stoned and sort of spaced out. i was taking this back road to get to a main highway. i kinda forgot that there's a stop sign to get ON to the main highway and it was over this little hill so i couldn't see it. when i got over the hill i could see it but i was going like 50 mph. i was like "OH SHIIIIIIIT!" i slammed on my brakes and my car spun into the highway. i just sort of went with it, it was like slow motion. the car spun in a circle, 360 degrees then another 90 degrees and i ended up in the lane i wanted to be in and going the direction i meant to be going in and i just kept going. deirdre was like "OMG how did you do that?" i just played it off like i meant it to be that way. she accepted me as her personal saviour.
I'm not going to be feeling sorry for my fucking self.

All is not lost. Put together the best CV you can and keep your eyes open for other opportunities as there are plenty out there. I'm giving serious thought to moving over to the US in May next year. It's one of a few options open to me but I want to do one last big thing before I get tied down with any serious commitments. I'm thinking Seattle or San Francisco.

And I actually remember all of last night, which is good! I managed the difficult task of getting just barely drunk and maintaining that level through the night, instead of gorging myself on ridiculous amounts of booze faster than my body can deal with it and hearing stories about where I'd been and what I'd done by other people, later on.

to be honest, i dont know what it is to feel happy in the relationship department any more. i don;t know what im looking for either, which makes me even sadder. i guess when you're in a relationship things can be emotionally a lot easier because you have someone you can rely on to a certain extent. it propels you into some kind of dream/fantasy world, away from the drudgery and toil of day to day living. many people are more frightened of being alone than staying in a half baked relationship, which i can understand but it really shocks me.
